The wooden slats that cover the facade gleam in the light of street lamps as a crowd of customers pass through the door. The inviting soft lighting of the interior greets the eye, the length of the bar filled with patrons looking for a good time and a welcoming atmosphere. This is not all that can be found in this local haven of fun - the scent of delicious chicken wings and succulent suppers drifts warmly from the dining room, inviting customers to pair their favorite drinks with excellent foods. The Cherry Lounge is a classic Jamestown rendezvous for nighttime gaiety and hungry diners alike. “It’s relaxing to come in here,” Dawn Ormand, the Assistant Manager, says. “The atmosphere is comfortable.” The Cherry Lounge has been open for almost 30 years, its anniversary coming up in the winter months. “I always wanted my own restaurant and bar,” co-owner Tom Constantine, explains.
