VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES HEART POWER This is a non-profit organization. The mission is to help children with chronic illnesses. Activities are conducted with East-West Tae Kwon Do of Potomac, Maryland. In the past, we held an entertational demonstration for patients at The Children’s National Medical Center and had a carwash in which we raised over $700 in five hours for Juvenile Lupus. As children with Lupus do not have support groups, we asked the Lupus Foundation of the Greater Metropolitan Area to use these donated funds for these children. This money is being used as a catalyst to start an e-mail buddy system for children with Lupus. Future plans include registering the organization with Montgomery County for participating students to acquire student service learning credits. SRI VISHNU TEMPLE I am a member of this temple, and have volunteered my services at this temple from July, 1997 to March, 1999. I worked approximately six times a year, for three to four hours a day. POTOMAC ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 4 I volunteered my time at this school on a daily basis from September, 1996 until June, 1997. I was active in three classrooms assisting the teachers, monitoring students and with school social events. I dedicated 15 hours a week. 5 .
