Christopher Lee co-produced the film, which was directed by Peter Sasdy, who has a prolific track record in the horror genre. This intriguing story begins as a crime thriller and becomes a sci-fi horror with occult overtones, culminating in a fiery climax. Diana Dors is also fiery as a redhead on a mission and the pairing of Cushing and Lee is, as always, unmissable. Grittier and more naturalistic than their usual horror films, this twisted tale keeps the audience guessing right up until the dramatic finale. Nothing But The Night airs on Sunday 26th January at 10pm. Mon 20th Jan 09:10 Wed 22nd Jan 15:05 Sparrows Can’t Sing (1963) Night Without Stars (1951) Comedy, directed by Joan Littlewood.
