  • GARY KUBIAK HEAD COACH – 22Nd NFL Season (12Th with Broncos)
GARY KUBIAK HEAD COACH – 22nd NFL Season (12th with Broncos) Gary Kubiak, a 23-year coaching veteran and three-time Super Bowl champion, enters his third decade with the Denver Broncos after being named the 15th head coach in club history on Jan. 19, 2015. A backup quarterback for nine seasons (1983-91) with the Broncos and an offensive coordinator for 11 years (1995- 2005) with the club, Kubiak returns to Denver after spending eight years (2006-13) as head coach of the Houston Texans and one season (2014) as offensive coordinator with the Baltimore Ravens. During 21 seasons working in the NFL, Kubiak has coached 30 players to a total of 57 Pro Bowl selections. He has appeared in eight conference championship games and six Super Bowls as a player or coach and was part of three World Championship staffs (S.F., 1994; Den., 1997-98) as a quarterbacks coach or offensive coordinator. In his most recent position as Baltimore’s offensive coordinator in 2014, he oversaw one of the NFL’s most improved and explosive units to help the Ravens advance to the AFC Divisional Playoffs. His offense posted the third-largest overall improvement (+57.5 ypg) in the NFL from the previous season and posted nearly 50 percent more big plays (74 plays of 20+yards) from the year before he arrived. Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco recorded career highs in passing yards (3,986) and touchdown passes (27) under Kubiak’s guidance while running back Justin Forsett ranked fifth in the league in rushing (1,266 yds.) to earn his first career Pro Bowl selection.

BALTIMORE RAVENS POST-GAME QUOTES Oakland Raiders vs. Baltimore Ravens Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016 M&T Bank Stadium OAKLAND RAIDERS Head Coach Jack Del Rio (general statement) “A lot to smile about there. A heck of a ballgame to be a part of. This is a tough place to play. I spent three years here. A part of the organization. It was a tremendous part of my life. I see a lot of those good people are still here. That was a great game. A great finish. A back-and-forth affair. Our ability to come back. And for Derek [Carr] to come back against a really good defense. And to come back and lead us to a victory like he did. For us to do enough defensively to do a stop like we did when they got a field goal kicker that’s out of this world. Their quarterback got hot in the second half. I’m real proud of a couple of things. We had some young guys who were playing. We had a rookie right tackle, and as an offensive line, we don’t allow any sacks. We had a couple of holding calls, which is ok because we were protecting our guy. But we got two sacks, and they got none. And we forced three fumbles on the day. We didn’t recover them all, but it was a good job going after the ball. At the end of the day, just a real gritty win against a really good football team. I’m really proud of our guys.” (on going forward on fourth-and-1 as the team’s identity) “I’m not looking at it in terms of trying to establish an identity.

CALIFORNIA GOLDEN BEARS Football Media Guide 19 THE CAL EXPERIENCE ne of the most dramatic turnarounds in recent college football history has taken place in Berkeley over the last six years. Under head coach Jeff Tedford, the Golden Bears Ohave become a consistent winner while showing the talent and attitude to battle, and defeat, America’s top programs. In the six years prior to the arrival of Jeff Tedford, California had struggled to a record of 18- 49 with no winning records or bowl appearances. In the six seasons since Tedford’s arrival, the Bears have gone 50-26 with six consecutive winning seasons, five straight bowl games (for the first time in program history) and have reached the top 10 in the Associated Press poll in each of the last four seasons. And California’s Memorial Stadium, long known as perhaps America’s most picturesque football playground, now is the home to large crowds, national television audiences, and a blue-and-gold clad fan base that is turning out in record numbers.
