The pick turns to a fourth-rounder if Boston advances to the second round of playoffs. To make room for Coyle, Frederic was assigned to Providence February 21. Donato reported to the NHL and made his Wild debut February 21. Providence’s season-best 12-game point streak ended February 9. Zane McIntyre’s 12-game winning streak came to an end February 17. His streak, which started January 4, saw him post a 1.65 GAA and save percentage of 93%. The P-Bruins also recalled Messner and McKenzie last week from ECHL Atlanta. Stempniak, who was with Boston on a PTO, signed a PTO with Providence February 15. Doherty, who was invited to P-Bruins camp, signed a PTO February 12. Kuhlman was called up to Boston February 13 and made his NHL debut February 16. Kampfer was recalled from his conditioning loan February 18 after three AHL games. Bjork underwent a successful surgery on his left shoulder. The expected recovery time is approximately five to six months. Vaakanainen was assigned to Providence after winning gold at the 2019 World Junior Championship. He was an alternate captain and scored four points in seven games. Szwarz was named to the 2019 AHL All-Star Classic roster for the first time in his career, posting an assist in four games during the tournament. He replaced Fitzgerald, who was was named to the initial roster but missed the event due to injury.

I think last time he shot about tenth and it was just a hunch, so this time, we were going to go with Bergy’s [Patrice Bergeron’s] line and then Charlie or maybe a [Jake] DeBrusk, who has been shooting the puck well lately. Obviously without Krech [David Krejci] and [Ryan] Spooner that are used to going – even [Riley] Nash has good numbers in this league. Good for Charlie. He seems to rise up to these moments, and we battled hard for that extra point. It’s always nice to have a win, even though it’s one point, it always sounds better, and it’s always nice at home, too. On importance of earning the second point… They all add up. I think, for us in the locker room, when you win, it’s one more point which it can come down to. It’s the way you win. We are missing guys down the middle of the ice; you’ve got guys battling through that weren’t 100 percent playing today, so it always feels a little better when you can suck it up and get it done. It will mean something at the end of the year, but it means more now going forward that the guys know they contributed. A lot of young guys in there; we added another one to the mix tonight in Colby [Cave], and knowing we can count on them, and they can get it done.
