Originally planned for 19 September, the election was postponed due to Covid-19. As well as electing Members of Parliament, New Zealand’s electorate voted on two referendums: one to decriminalise the recreational use of marijuana; the other to allow some terminally ill people to request assisted dying. The election was commonly dubbed the “Covid election”, with the coronavirus pandemic the main issue for voters throughout the campaign. Jacinda Ardern, the incumbent Prime Minister from the Labour Party, had been widely praised for her handling of the pandemic and the “hard and early” plan introduced by her Government in the early stages. She led in the polls throughout the campaign. Preliminary results from the election show Ms Ardern won a landslide victory, securing 49.1 per cent of the votes and a projected 64 seats in the new (53rd) Parliament: a rare outright parliamentary majority. -
Christchurch Part 2
Christchurch Part 2 by Miles Mathis First published March 23, 2019 My opinion, as usual, still protected by the US Constitution. I am free to do research and to publish, and so are New Zealanders and Australians, despite the bluffs from Ardern and others. “Uncle Owen” will be back with more of his research, including, I am told, more info on Tarrant's mother. But while we are waiting for him I will show you some of the things I have discovered myself. That photo above has to be the image of the event, like Emily Parker making the horn sign at Sandy Hook. It is John Podesta, not dated, but we assume from the days before the event. He was in New Zealand the week before for a big spook conference, where he warned of upcoming tragic events. As they do. constantly. He left the day before the event. Is that photo even genuine? Hard to know for sure. The signs could have been drawn on by his enemies in Intel, to help blow this event. Either way, the man's a creep, and the signs hardly succeed at making him creepier. If he falls with the event, so much the better. [I am informed by readers that picture dates back a couple of years, and has to do with UN objective 14, having to do with sustainable harvesting of the oceans. So it is possible I was duped by the websites below. Or it is possible I am being duped now. In any case, the duping backfired, since it got me into Podesta's genealogy, which is the important thing. -

TE NUPEPA O TE TAIRAWHITI FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2020 HOME-DELIVERED $1.90, RETAIL $2.20 READY TO ROCK: It was Louie Taylor’s first time at the A&P Show and he took his opening ride on the IT’S PINK merry-go-round seriously. Mum Hayley Taylor made sure they were bundled up SHIRT DAY well, as a high of only 11 degrees this morning came PAGE 2 with patches of rain and blue sky. Hayley said her kids woke up earlier this morning than they would if it was a kindy day, and were very excited. Winter’s temporary return for the first day of the Show didn’t dampen the atmosphere, though, plus the ground was holding firm despite yesterday’s rain. A steady crowd built FINAL up over the morning, with queues for the hotdogs and candy floss almost as long LEADERS as the lines for some of the rides. Mahons Amusements managing director John DEBATE Mahon said his team were “very excited” to have the event under way as it was the first big show to be held in New Zealand since the PAGES 6-7 Covid-19 lockdown. Poverty Bay A&P Association president Rob Telfer said he was happy with the turnout PAGES 4, 25 at the Rural Breakfast, which kicked off the day at 8am. Let's Not Forget
LET’S NOT FORGET A collaborative fundraising campaign by Perpetual Guardian, Givealittle and The Royal New Zealand Returned Services Association. BACKGROUND 25th April notes an important day for Australians and New Zealanders. It is the day the two countries remember all those who served and died in all wars, conflicts and peace-making operations; commemorating our heroes. A Covid-19 nationwide lockdown, however, necessitated the cancellation of the 2020 Anzac Day services and postponement of the Poppy Day appeal, the major annual fundraising opportunity for the Royal New Zealand Returned and Services’ Association (RSA). As the country’s leading philanthropic entity, Perpetual Guardian (Alexander PR’s client) stepped in to utilise its expertise to help plug the funding gap for the RSA. Perpetual Guardian’s recent acquisition of national fundraising website Givealittle provided the perfect platform to launch a national appeal, generating widespread support and donations. A ‘Let’s Not Forget’ page was created on Givealittle and amplified through social media, traditional media and third-party support. Perpetual Guardian Foundation kicked off the funding with a $25,000 contribution and Perpetual Guardian contributed $1,500. The public could donate via Givealittle and update their Facebook profile image with a filter to show their support. As momentum grew, other entities joined the movement, and calls to ‘Stand at Dawn’ were issued to add further support to the campaign. New Zealand’s prime minister, Jacinda Ardern, was among the thousands of Kiwis showing their support. This document exemplifies how, when the cause is worthy, an entire country will come together in support of each other and the heroes that have gone, are and will be – even in times of a global pandemic and social distancing. -
