Acropolis Rally of Greece (11-14 June, 2009) – Day 3 Mission accomplished for Sordo and Marti After restarting under the SupeRally ruling for the third and final day of the 2009 Acropolis Rally of Greece, Dani Sordo and Marc Marti achieved their aims by scoring four points for Citroën in the Manufacturers’ world championship. Day 3 of the Acropolis Rally was held near the service park in Loutraki. The day began with a loop comprising three stages, including a run through Aghii Theodori, a daunting 33 km stage. After restarting in 17th position in the overall standings, the only goal for Dani Sordo and Marc Marti was to finish in order to score a handful of points for Citroën in the Manufacturers’ championship. Arriving in Loutraki for the midday service, Dani Sordo was fully focused on the job in hand: “It’s never easy to run at a controlled pace but I’m taking no risks. I’m staying in the middle of the road – at times, it feels like we’re doing a recce!” Following the cancellation of a stage, the rally concluded with a second run through Aghii Theodori. Running at the same pace, Dani finished in 12 th position, which is worth four points in the Manufacturers’ standings. “Dani and Marc did a perfect job,” concluded Citroën Total World Rally Team team manager Sven Smeets. “These points are even more important because our rivals once again took a maximum score. We’re already looking ahead to the next rally. Práce je rozdělena do pěti částí. V první části jsou uvedeny soudobé automobilové soutěže a federace FIA. Druhá část je zaměřená na specifikaci vozů WRC. Třetí část seznamuje se způsobem organizace šampionátu WRC. Jsou představeny posádky se svými týmy, jejich výsledky v šampionátu a v poháru konstruktérů. Největší pozornost je věnována čtvrté a páté části, které jsou zaměřeny na soudobou techniku používanou ve WRC a vývojové trendy v této oblasti. Jsou zde uvedeny způsoby virtuálního navrhování, počítačové simulace a testování.V závěru práce jsou zmíněny příklady vývoje vozů WRC a řešení převzaté na sériové vozy z techniky WRC. Klíčová slova: Rallye, FIA, WRC, karoserie, podvozek, tlumič, motor, převodovka, diferenciál, brzda, pneumatika, testování, rekuperace ABSTRACT The content of the bachelor thesis is an overview of the current condition of technics used in the car racing competitions focused on the WRC serial. The thesis is diveded into five parts. The first part introduces the contemporary car competitions and FIA federation. The second part is focused on specification of the WRC cars. The third part familiarizes with the organization process of the WRC championship. There are introduced crews with their teams and their results in the constructor cup.

    Andreas Mikkelsen set to join Hyundai Motorsport on a full-time basis for the 2018 and 2019 FIA World Rally Championship seasons Mikkelsen will join Thierry Neuville, Dani Sordo and Hayden Paddon under contract with the team for next season, the team’s fifth year in WRC The Norwegian will compete in his first event for Hyundai Motorsport at next weekend’s Rally de España, alongside compatriot co-driver Anders Jæger. Alzenau, Germany September 28, 2017 – Hyundai Motorsport has today confirmed that Andreas Mikkelsen has signed a two-year deal to join the team for the 2018 and 2019 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) seasons. Mikkelsen will compete in all rounds of the 2018 championship in a Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC, co- driven by fellow Norwegian Anders Jæger. Hyundai Motorsport’s existing crews of Thierry Neuville/Nicolas Gilsoul, Dani Sordo/Marc Martí and Hayden Paddon/Seb Marshall all remain under contract for the 2018 season. Andreas Mikkelsen said: “I am delighted that Hyundai Motorsport has offered me the chance to return to the WRC with a full-time seat for 2018 and 2019. Even before my first rally with the team, I feel that I have settled in quickly, and it is clear to me that I am joining a world-class team with realistic chances of fighting for both Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ championships.     Hyundai Motorsport targets titles in 2019 FIA World Rally Championship Hyundai Motorsport has outlined its ambitions to compete for the FIA World Rally Championship manufacturers’ and drivers’ titles in 2019 Revised crew line-up sees Thierry Neuville and Andreas Mikkelsen tackle the complete season with Dani Sordo scheduled for eight rounds and Sébastien Loeb for six. Under new Team Director Andrea Adamo, Hyundai Motorsport will contest its most comprehensive season in WRC to date with 14 rounds, including a new event in Chile. Birmingham, UK January 11, 2019 – On the eve of the official WRC season launch at the Autosport International show, Hyundai Motorsport has outlined its intentions to compete once again at the very forefront of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), with its sights set firmly on the manufacturers’ and drivers’ titles. The team finished as runners-up in 2018, for the third time in a row, having taken the title fight down to the wire. In one of the closest, most hotly contested seasons in recent years, a three-way battle was only concluded at the season finale in Australia. Running a revised crew line-up and with an extended calendar of 14 rounds in 2019, Hyundai Motorsport will aim to revisit the competitive form that helped it score three victories and 11 podium finishes last season. With WRC’s regulations remaining stable, the team has been able to evolve the technical foundations of its rally winning Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. All aspects of the car have been rigorously assessed in order to perform consistently across all terrains in the coming season.

    Motorsport Information FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), Rally Spain Volkswagen are World Champions* – manufacturers’ title following one-two victory in Spain Wolfsburg (27 October 2013). Part two of the World Champions’ story: Volkswagen has won the manufacturers’ title in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) with an outstanding one-two victory at the Rally Spain. That means all the WRC titles* for 2013 will go to the car maker from Wolfsburg. Sébastien Ogier/Julien Ingrassia (F/F) claimed the Drivers’ and Co-Drivers’ crown three weeks ago at the Rally France. The French duo went on to score an impressive win – their eighth this season – ahead of their team-mates Jari- Matti Latvala/Miikka Anttila (FIN/FIN) at the “Rally de España”. As a result, Volkswagen has an unassailable lead in the Manufacturers’ Championship with one round still to go this season. Winning three titles in its debut year with the Polo R WRC is Volkswagen’s greatest motorsport achievement to date. Title wins that will go down in history – Volkswagen’s debut Volkswagen’s achievements in the 2013 WRC season are unparalleled. The German team clinched all of the titles in the top category of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) in its debut year – the Drivers’ and Co-Drivers’ Championship and the manufacturers’ trophy. No other manufacturer has managed to win a World Championship in its first year since the World Rally Championship began. Even in the history of Formula 1, no car maker has yet taken the title in its opening season through their own efforts. Volkswagen’s performance has exceeded all expectations.

    Rally Finland (30 July - 2 August 2009) – Preview The Citroën Junior Team aims higher After a month-long summer break, the FIA World Rally Championship heads to Finland for the ninth round of the series from 30 July to 2 August. The Citroën Junior Team will be running three C4 WRCs: for Sébastien Ogier / Julien Ingrassia, Evgeny Novikov / Dale Moscatt and Conrad Rautenbach / Daniel Barritt. By improving both its performance and reliability throughout the second third of the season, the Citroën Junior Team has gone from strength to strength since April. In Argentina, Italy, Greece and Poland, the Citroën Junior Team always managed to place at least one of its C4 WRCs in the points, thanks to Sébastien Ogier, Conrad Rautenbach and Evgeny Novikov. Some fastest times from Ogier and Novikov on the world’s toughest stages have also underlined the growing potential of the Citroën Junior Team. One month after a promising performance in Poland, the Citroën Junior Team now faces a real icon in the world of rallying. Finland is well known as the spiritual home of rallying, producing six World Champions that have claimed 13 of the 30 world titles allocated since 1979. The event’s rapid stages and rollercoaster crests make it an unforgettable experience for everyone who goes there. Sébastien Ogier / Julien Ingrassia and Evgeny Novikov / Dale Moscatt have been nominated to score manufacturer points for the Citroen Junior Team. Conrad Rautenbach / Daniel Barritt are entered in a third Citroën C4 WRC. In order to prepare for the quickest rally of the season, the three crews will undertake a three-day test on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to set-up their Citroën C4 WRCs and get to grips with the unique conditions of Finland.
