Langsett OS 110 Reservoir 2 Miles Reservoir & 3.2 Km Nr. Huddersfield

The walk is on one side of Langsett Reservoir, which is situated within a woodland pine area with spectacular views of the lake and surrounding moorlands and forest. It has a nice picnic area.

There is a tarmac car park at the centre, which can be full at the weekends – and outside is a long lay-by which people use.

z Café – There is no café at the Langsett Centre Barn – But as you leave the car park turn right and about 50 metres is the Bank View Café serving excellent food and The Wagon & Horses Inn serving home cooking and real ale, with outside seating areas in the garden and grand views overlooking Langsett Reservoir and the Pennine moors - they are both wheelchair friendly.

z Toilets – There are toilets and disabled toilets at the centre – and toilets at the Café and Inn. z Path – The wheelchair walk is a 1.5 miles round walk, the paths are a mixture of fine rolled-in crushed gravel / stone and compacted earth all the way round –– it is suitable for motorised wheelchairs – there some steep slopes and it says it is suitable for pushchairs – however it may not be manageable for a pusher and manual wheelchairs apart from the top path which has great moorland views and around the centre and picnic area.

z Directions – Langsett Reservoir is approx. 11 miles from the M1 junction 35A on the A616 past Stocksbridge – look out for a left turn into Langsett Reservoir car park.
