Board of Supervisors Calhoun County Courthouse Rockwell City, Iowa Tuesday, November 10, 2020 The Board of Supervisors of Calhoun County met with the following members present: Jacobs, Cooper and Legore The Board meeting was held on Zoom to comply with the COVID-19 Pandemic requirements. Board of Supervisor District 1 Elect Scott L. Becker was present for the entire meeting. Agenda additions: None. Motion by Legore seconded by Cooper to approve the agenda as is with no additions. Ayes all. Motion carried. The minutes of the last meeting were read. Motion by Cooper seconded by Legore to approve the minutes. Ayes all. Motion carried. Public Comments: No one was present from the public or by Zoom for public comments. Motion by Cooper seconded by Legore to review the claims (check #65928 through #66043) and (warrants 505153-505154) were allowed as endorsed. Ayes all. Motion carried. Motion by Cooper seconded by Legore to approve drainage claims as presented which are available for review upon request in the Auditor’s office. Ayes all. Motion carried. Nick Buse, Calhoun/Sac County Engineer presented Secondary Road Updates. BJ Musselman, Maintenance Superintendent was also present. Motion by Legore seconded by Cooper to approve Underground Construction Permit 27-2020 to MidAmerican Energy Company to install plastic pipe under Twin Lakes Road at Turner Lane. Ayes all. Motion carried. Motion by Cooper seconded by Legore to approve Underground Construction Permit 28-2020 to Vosberg Enterprises Inc. to install tile 2.5 miles South of Farnhamville in Reading Township section 25. Ayes all. Motion carried. Motion by Cooper seconded by Legore to approve Underground Construction Permit 29-2020 to B & S Tiling to install tile under 230th Street in Twin Lakes Township Section 6/7. Ayes all. Motion carried. Motion by Legore seconded by Cooper to approve Chairman to sign Iowa Department of Transportation Plans for Project No. BRS-CHBP-CO13(98)—GB-13. Ayes all. Motion carried. Motion by Cooper seconded by Legore to purchase 2021 Chevrolet Silverado ¾ Ton pickup for low bid of $33,975.00 from Macke Motors for Secondary Roads. Ayes all. Motion carried. Mike Moeller, Assistant to Engineer, Safety Officer/Zoning and Flood Plain Administrator presented Zoning updates. Pat Riley, Calhoun County Deputy Sheriff presented sheriff department updates. Motion by Cooper seconded by Legore to approve hire of Mikayla Schultz effective 11-04-2020 at $16.48 per hour as a part time dispatch in the Sheriff’s office. Ayes all. Motion carried. Barb Riley, Public Health Director presented department updates and annual report by Zoom. Motion by Legore seconded by Cooper to approve final pay out for Linda Ellis due to retirement from Public Health Department. Ayes all. Motion carried. Motion by Cooper seconded by Legore to approve final pay out for Steve Richardson due to retirement from Calhoun County Conservation Department. Ayes all. Motion carried. Motion by Cooper seconded by Legore to recess until 3:00 PM for canvass results. Ayes all. Motion carried. At 3:00 PM the Board reconvened to canvass the November 3, 2020 General Election.
