The district came into being on 15th April 1997 in the memory of famous social reformer Sant Mahatama Jyotiba Phule by combining Amroha, Dhanora & Hasanpur Tehsils of Moradabad district vide UP Gazette no. 1071/1-5-97/224/sa-5 dated 15th April 1997 whose headoffice is situated in the ancient city Amroha. The district consists of 1133 villages, 4 Tehsils, 6 Blocks & 11 Police Stations. Its geographical area is 2470 Sq. Km. Extending from Latitute 28° 54’ North to 39° 6’ North and Longitude 78° 28’ East to 78° 39’ East. The maximum & minimum height from sea level are 240ft. & 177ft. respectively. In the north of the district lies District Bijnore,District Sambhal is in the south, District Moradabad is in the east and in the west are situated districts Hapur, Ghaziabad & Buland Shahar. Ganga river separates it from district Hapur,Ghaziabad & Buland Shahar. Climate- Amroha is a city in the state Uttar Pradesh in India. It located north west of Moradabad near the sot river. It is the administrative head quarter of the Amroha district. Amroha is came in Bareilly Zone. Bareilly is 109 km from Amroha. So the actual climate in Amroha can very a bit. Amroha is well connected through Railways and Road with Indian capital New Delhi. Amroha railway station is situated on Delhi-Moradabad line and all passenger trains & most of the express trains stop here. Amroha railway station is on a line built by Oudh and Rohilkhand Railway, 868 miles from Kolkata. Amroha is about 5 km away from NH 24, a four-lane highway which connects New Delhi to Lucknow Literacy and Population Amroha city is governed by Municipal Corporation and is situated in Uttar Pradesh State/UT.
