Overnewton Anglican Community College City College of Football Program 2019 PROGRAMMING OPTIONS

The Melbourne City College of Football Program at Overnewton Anglican Community College provides a range of options for students in Years 5 – 12.

The program aims to:  Appoint leading Melbourne City FC coaches to oversee football programming and elite stream management, applying world’s best practice and methodology  Deliver elite, development and community football programs for talented male and female players  Design programs to support players of varying age, skill and experience  Provide representative learning and training opportunities beyond the existing inter-school structure  Respect the importance of the academic and wider Co-curricular program  Respect the College’s commitment to the Association of Co-educational Schools (ACS) and School Sport (SSV) and ensure the programs align with seasonal commitments  Undertake selected sessions before-school as to not to conflict with after-school commitments (including club training)

2019 Melbourne City College of Football Program

1. Year-Round Elite Football Program (Boys Years 7-9) 2019 LEVIES: $330 (NEW), $200 (RETURNING)

Boys within the Years 7 – 9 ‘Elite Program’ will complete 1 session per week before school with a leading Melbourne City FC coach (3 x 5 week cycles – 7.00 – 8.30am on Thursday mornings) Term 1: (14/2, 21/2, 28/2, 7/3, 14/3) Term 2: (9/5, 16/5, 23/5, 30/5, 6/6) Term 3: (1/8, 8/8, 15/8, 22/8, 29/8)

Boys in Years 7, 8 and 9 will complete a ‘year-round’ football program. In Terms 1 & 4, Tuesday afternoons will be dedicated for students to complete a football education program led by a Melbourne City FC coach which will consist of  Technical training sessions (at school and the City Football Academy)  Specialty education sessions (e.g. goal keeping masterclass, strength and conditioning sessions)  Matches against Affiliate and Local Schools

Notes:  Year 7 & 8 students will complete this program in place of ACS Summer Sport  Year 9 students will complete this program as part of the ‘Year 9 elective block’ (Sports Officiating requirement).  There is an expectation these students will play ACS Soccer during Winter (Terms 2 & 3)

Boys within the Elite Program will play in representative tournaments against affiliate schools, be considered for the Bill Turner Cup squad and offered special event and ambassador role opportunities.

2. Primary Development Program (Boys and Girls – Years 5 & 6) 2019 LEVIES: $280 (NEW), $150 (RETURNING)

Students within the Primary Development Program will complete 1 session per week before school with a Melbourne City FC coach (3 x 5 week cycles – 7.00 – 8.30am on Thursday mornings) Term 1: (14/2, 21/2, 28/2, 7/3, 14/3) Term 2: (9/5, 16/5, 23/5, 30/5, 6/6) Term 3: (1/8, 8/8, 15/8, 22/8, 29/8)

Students will play in representative tournaments against affiliate schools and offered special event and ambassador role opportunities 3. Junior Development Program (Boys and Girls – Years 7 & 8) 2019 LEVIES: $280 (NEW), $150 (RETURNING)

Students within the Junior Development Program will complete 1 session per week before school with a Melbourne City FC coach (3 x 5 week cycles – 7.00 – 8.30am on Thursday mornings) Term 1: (14/2, 21/2, 28/2, 7/3, 14/3) Term 2: (9/5, 16/5, 23/5, 30/5, 6/6) Term 3: (1/8, 8/8, 15/8, 22/8, 29/8)

Students within the Junior Development Program may have elite group training opportunities and may be considered for the Bill Turner Cup / Trophy squads. All students will be invited to play in representative tournaments against affiliate schools and offered special event and ambassador role opportunities. 4. Intermediate Program – Elite and Development (Boys and Girls – Years 9 & 10) 2019 LEVIES: $280 (NEW), $150 (RETURNING)

Students within the Intermediate Development Program will complete 1 session per week before school with a Melbourne City FC coach (3 x 5 week cycles – 7.00 – 8.30am on Thursday mornings) Term 1: (14/2, 21/2, 28/2, 7/3, 14/3) Term 2: (9/5, 16/5, 23/5, 30/5, 6/6) Term 3: (1/8, 8/8, 15/8, 22/8, 29/8)

Students will be grouped into elite and development streams and may be considered for the Bill Turner Cup / Trophy squads and senior events. All students will be invited to play in representative tournaments against affiliate schools and offered special event and ambassador role opportunities. 5. Senior Program – Elite and Development (Boys and Girls – Years 11 & 12) 2019 LEVIES: $130 (NEW), No levy (RETURNING)

There is no morning programming for students in Years 11 & 12. Students in the Senior Program will play in representative tournaments against affiliate schools and offered special event and ambassador opportunities. 6. Community Program FREE PROGRAM

Community programs take place on campus with a Melbourne City Community Coach. The focus is on skill development and inclusivity. There is no uniform for this program.  The NEW student program levy incorporates the cost of the uniform into the price
