Uforglemmelig Uke - Sensasjonell Sesong BANESTORMING: Gullfest på tribunen og gressmatta etter at sluttsignalet lød i Oxford-kampen. Uforglemmelig uke - sensasjonell sesong et var Liverpool og Tottenham som fikk den største nasjonale oppmerksomheten etter hver sin bragd i Champions League-semifinalene denne uken, men Luton DTown FCs prestasjoner og oppnåelser er relativt sett betydelig større. Tre opprykk på seks år, hvorav to på rad i English Football League (EFL), League One-tittelen og en rekke nye klubbrekorder på veien er de mest iøynefallende merittene. Parallelt har Luton Town FC oppnådd det som gjennom 57 år har virket umulig: Byggetillatelse for nytt stadion! Sistnevnte vil det ta noen år å realisere. BRICKLAYERS ARMS PUB: Pål Espen Iversen, Patrik Jönsson, Jan Halvard Aase og Thomas Møller. redagskvelden på The Bricklayers Arms Pub var levende. Festlig. Lørdag tok Aase og Møller turen til Holiday Inn ved flyplassen for å representere LTSCS på oppvarmingsmiddagen til kveldskampen på F Kenilworth Road Stadium. Om lag 200 Town-tilhengere hadde sikret seg plass til det evenementet, der tidligere Luton-spiller Kirk Stephens var æresgjest og taler. Vi tok plass ved hans bord og ble kjent med mange nye Lutonians før to busser fraktet oss til stadionet. Fyttirakkern for en stemning! Kenny fullsatt med feststemte Hatters sang av full hals gjennom hele kampen. Tidlig ledelse til både Luton Town og Barnsley, men det var bare førstnevnte som klarte å holde på den. Ikke minst takket være George Moncur; mannen som kom fra Barnsley i januar- overgangsvinduet. Han scoret to ganger i 3-1-seieren! Tittelen som glapp forrige sesong var lett å glemme med League One-pokalen i hånd. Feiringen på Kenilworth Road Stadium ville ingen ende ta. Selv et par håndfuller OXcord United-supportere ble igjen for å overvære festilighetene halvannen time etter kampslutt. Feiringene fortsatte i hele byen. Pubene satte besøks- og omsetningsrekorder. LTSCS- representantene besøkte tradisjonen tro Bobbers Club først etter kampen, for så å samles på vår egen familiære vannhule Bricklayers Arms. Brickies-eier Alison Taylor er vår beste venn i Luton. Klubben arrangerer daglige jobbsøkerkurs, inviterer innvandrere og asylsøkere til kamp, er iniativtaker til utallige veldedige arrangementer/innsamlinger og var den første i hele England som sluttet seg til minstelønnsavtalen for egne ansatte. Det er umulig å beskrive med ord hvor sentral fotballklubben er for byens ære, velvære og utvikling. Sauebjellene ga god gjenklang i den store gallasalen ut i de små timer. Vi fikk nye perspektiver på mangt og meget den kvelden. Som for eksempel da Daniel Potts fortalte om lønnsnivået i EFL. At dagens snittlønn for Luton Towns A-lagsspillere ligger på 3000-4000 pund i uken. At deres kontrakter inneholder klausul om ca. 50 prosent lønnsøkning etter opprykket. Først noen dager med fest, sol, refleksjoner og forhåpentligvis masse hell. Så uker med sine nærmeste, samtidig som de skal holde seg i form til et nytt hardkjør starter med Graeme Jones ved roret. Luton Town FC kan bli historiens 50. Premier League-klubb. Ikke urealistisk, selv om tre strake opprykk er vel mye å forvente. Tiden vil vise hva som blir framtidens perspektiv. Forvente både opp-. og nedturer i årene som kommer. Med nytt stadion som ledestjerne tåler vi til og med et eventuelt nedrykk på veien mot toppdivisjonen. Tilværelsen som Luton Town-supporter gjør at vi gleder oss over hver seier, framfor å dvele ved nederlagene. Come On You Hatters!!! PS! LTSCS-medlemskontingenten øker til kr 150,- i 2019/20-sesongen. Samme sum i norske, danske og svenske kroner.
