This is an uncharacteristic start for Dark Eyes 4 ; wildly silly, wonderfully enjoyable and has an incredibly sad and bittersweet ending. The story takes on an enjoyable structure as Liv and Martin hop from place to place on a kind of date out and about in Twenties London while The Doctor and Kitty run the gauntlet trying to catch up to them and just missing them at every turn. Nicholas Briggs is clearly revelling in his performance as the pepper pots, who feel fresh here and Alex MacQueen is, as ever, Dark Eyes 4 evil as The Master. The Sontarans are a little underused, however it feels like this is only a consequence of the Dark Eyes 4 former villains beings so on form. The story features the Daleks again in a big way and we finally get to see a missing piece in the timeline of original Big Finish baddies, The Eminence. Sorcha Cusack is wonderfully nuanced as Mary, an old Irish nurse at Dark Eyes 4 Eye of Orion base, and the final scenes are heartbreaking. Overall, Dark Eyes 4 is excellently varied and a more than satisfying end to the series. Now to go back to the top and start listening all over again. As it turns out, Liv and several others escaped the Dalek invasion of Nixyce VII on board the ship, but she suffered severe radiation poisoning as a result, which condemned her to death. Because of this, she signed up as a med-tech on the ship and went into cryo-sleep. Shortly after the Doctor and Molly encounter Liv, the ship comes under attack by Dark Eyes 4 Eminence, and it began to possess the crew. After defeating Dark Eyes 4 Eminence, Molly and the Doctor were joined on their travels by Liv. Dark Eyes 4 Review | Doctor Who TV March 6, Dark Eyes 4 long time ago inBig Finish embarked on a mission: Push the Eighth Doctor into new territory. Take Dark Eyes 4 to the Dark Eyes 4 edge of his existence. Start his journey to towards the Time War and his eventual end in Night of the Doctor. So far, the Dark Eyes series has taken various twists and turns. From encountering the Daleks, to meeting the Eminence to taking on the Master in a massive temporal showdown, Dark Eyes 4 seeks to fuse all these elements into one and finish the Dark Eyes saga in an epic fashion. The timelines are unstable thanks to the machinations of both the Daleks and the Master in the previous box sets and the Doctor sets out to end this conflict…once and for all! This is the complete opposite of what I was expecting from the opening story. I find the character a walking bundle of misery that does nothing but make the atmosphere in Dark Eyes even bleaker. So imagine my surprise when A life in a Day focused on Liv and humanizing her character Dark Eyes 4 wasting most of her presence in the previous box sets. I do not Dark Eyes 4 of the lackluster fashion they handled her arc, but A Life in a Day really does wonders for Liv. For those of you who have been getting a little worn out by the darker and more morose Eighth Doctor, take comfort in knowing that he has chilled out a little between DE3 and now. The first installment might not rank amongst the greatest DE openers or even one of the best stories in general, but it does succeed in what it aimed to do and that is open the book on page one of the final chapter in the Dark Eyes series, giving us more questions than answers, setting plot points in place and developing characters who desperately needed it. After setting things in motion in the opener, Dark Eyes 4 goes straight to business in this second installment. Straight to business…but at the slowest freaking pace imaginable. The plot setup is atrociously long and it takes more than half the story before the titular monster makes its first official appearance.
