DENGUE SURVEILLANCE REPORT

FINDINGS: Partial reports showed there were 26,032 cases admitted at different reporting institutions of the Region from January 1 to December 31, 2017. There were 298 admissions for this week. has the highest (33.48/10,000 population) attack rate (Table 2).

159 deaths were reported (CFR 0.61) (Table 1/Figure 1). This is 53% higher compared to the same period last year (16,977) [Table 1/Figure 2]; and 17% higher than previous five-year average (2012- 2016) [Figure 3].

Profile of Cases

Ages of cases ranged from 1 month to 96 years old (median 11 years). Most 11,288 (44%) of those affected was the 5-14-year age-group (Figure 4). Majority of cases 13,836 (53%) were male.

Geographic Distribution Most of the cases were from the following Cities: Quezon City (38%), Caloocan (12%), Manila (11%). Paranaque (6%) and Pasig (5%). (Figure 5).

CLUSTERING OF CASES: Clustering of cases were noted in the Cities of Caloocan, Las Pinas, Makati, Malabon, Manila, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Paranaque, Pasay, Pasig, Quezon, Taguig and Valenzuela (Table 3).

I.CALOOCAN CITY

FINDINGS: Partial reports showed there were 3,184 cases admitted at different reporting institutions of the Region from January 1 to December 31, 2017. There were 8 admissions for this week. Most of the cases 344 (11%) were from Barangay 176. Eleven (CFR 0.3) deaths were reported.

Ages of cases ranged from 1 month to 85 years old (median 10 years). Most 1,554 (49%) of those affected was the 5 - 14-year age-group. Majority of cases 1,716 (54%) were male.

This is 107% higher compared to the same period last year (1,537) [Table 1]; and 77% (1,779) higher than the previous four-year average (2013-2016) [Figure 6]

I. MALABON CITY

FINDINGS: Partial reports showed there were 830 cases admitted at different reporting institutions of the Region from January 1 to December 31, 2017. There were 5 admissions for this week. Most of the cases 120 (14%) were from Barangay Tonsuya. Four (CFR 0.5) death was reported.

Ages of cases ranged from 2 months to 65 years old (median 14 years). Most 374 (45%) of those affected was the 15 - 49-year age-group. Majority of cases 437 (53%) were male.

This is 61% higher compared to the same period last year (516) [Table 1]; and 36% (612) higher than the previous four-year average (2013-2016) [Figure 6].

I. NAVOTAS CITY

FINDINGS: Partial reports showed there were 307 cases admitted at different reporting institutions of the Region from January 1 to December 31, 2017. There were 6 admissions for this week. Majority of the cases 43 (14%) were from Barangay South. There was no death reported this week.

Ages of cases ranged from 1 month to 63 years old (median 13 years). Most 132 (43%) of those affected was the 15 – 49 years age-group. Majority of cases 175 (57%) were male.

This is 60% higher compared to the same period last year (192) [Table 1]; and 9% (281) higher than the previous four-year average (2013-2016) [Figure 7].

I. VALENZUELA CITY

FINDINGS: Partial reports showed there were 1,022 cases admitted at different reporting institutions of the Region from January 1 to December 31, 2017. There were 16 admissions for this week. Most of the cases 127 (12%) were from Barangay Marulas. Two (CFR 0.2) death was reported.

Ages of cases ranged from 1 month to 64 years old (median 13 years). Most 446 (44%) of those affected was the 15 - 49 years age-group. Majority of cases 567 (56%) were male.

This is 47% higher compared to the same period last year (693) [Table 1]; and 48% (693) higher than the previous four-year average (2013-2016) [Figure 8].

DISTRICT II (PaPaMaTaQue)

II. PASIG CITY

FINDINGS: Partial reports showed there were 1,360 cases admitted at different reporting institutions of the Region from January 1 to December 31, 2017. There were 31 admissions for this week. Most of the cases 241 (18%) were from Barangay Pinagbuhatan. Five (CFR 0.4) deaths were reported.

Ages of cases ranged from 1 month to 82 years old (median 12 years). Most 643 (47%) of those affected was the 5 – 14 years age-group. Majority of cases 695 (51%) were male.

This is 1% higher compared to the same period last year (1,352) [Table 1]; and 3% (1,319) higher than the previous four-year average (2013-2016) [Figure 9].

II. PATEROS

FINDINGS: Partial reports showed there were 49 cases admitted at different reporting institutions of the Region from January 1 to December 31, 2017. There was one admission for this week. Majority of the cases 25 (51%) were from the Barangay Sta Ana. There was no death reported.

Ages of cases ranged from 1 to 72 years old (median 18 years). Majority 27 (55%) of those affected 15 – 49 years age-group. Majority of cases 32 (65%) were male.

This is 54% lower compared to the same period last year (106) [Table 1]; and 42% (85) lower than the previous four-year average (2013-2016) [Figure 10]

FINDINGS: Partial reports showed there were 666 cases admitted at different reporting institutions of the Region from January 1 to December 31, 2017. There were 13 admissions for this week. Most of the cases 78 (12%) were from Barangay Tumana. Five (CFR 0.8) deaths were reported

Ages of cases ranged from 2 months to 81 years old (median 10 years). Most 325 (49%) of those affected was the 5 – 14 years age-group. Majority of cases 362 (54%) were male.

This is 51% higher compared to the same period last year (442) [Table 1]; and 3% (685) lower than the previous four-year average (2013-2016) [Figure 11].

FINDINGS: Partial reports showed there were 834 cases admitted at different reporting institutions of the Region from January 1 to December 31, 2017. There were 12 admissions for this week. Most of the cases 105 (13%) were Western Bicutan. Fifteen (CFR 1.8) deaths were reported.

Ages of cases ranged from 2 months to 77 years old (median 12.5 years). Most 345 (41%) of those affected was the 15-49 years age-group. Majority of cases 432 (52%) were male.

This is 39% higher compared to the same period last year (601) [Table 1]; and 34% (621) higher than the previous four-year average (2013-2016) [Figure 12].

FINDINGS: Partial reports showed there were 9,862 cases admitted at different reporting institutions of the Region from January 1 to December 31, 2017. There were 56 admissions for this week. Most of the cases 1,228 (12%) cases were from Barangay Payatas. Eighty-six (CFR 0.9) deaths were reported.

Ages of cases ranged from 1 month to 96 years old (median 10 years). Most 4,513 (46%) of those affected was the 5 - 14 years age-group. Majority of cases 5,152 (52%) were male.

This is 100% higher compared to the same period last year (4,942) [Table 1]; and 77% (5,563) higher than the previous four-year average (2013-2016) [Figure 13].

Ages of cases ranged from 1 month to 85 years old (median 13 years). Most 1,201 (43%) of those affected was the 15 - 49 years age-group. Majority of cases 1,537 (55%) were male.

This is 5% lower compared to the same period last year (2,677) [Table 1]; and 7% (2,624) higher than the previous four-year average (2013-2016) [Figure 14]

Ages of cases ranged from 2 months to 86 years old (median 15 years). Majority 611 (50%) of those affected was the 15-49 years age-group. Majority of cases 697 (57%) were male.

This is 72% higher compared to the same period last year (713) [Table 1]; and 73% (709) higher than previous four-year average (2013-2016) [Figure 15].

IV. PASAY CITY

FINDINGS: Partial reports showed there were 288 cases admitted at different reporting institutions of the Region from January 1 to December 31, 2017. There were 5 admissions for this week. Most of the cases 14 (5%) were from Barangay 183. There was no death reported.

Ages of cases ranged from 6 months to 78 years old (median 15.5 years). Most 138 (48%) of those affected was the 15-49 years age-group. Majority of cases 148 (51%) were male.

This is 22% lower compared to the same period last year (368) [Table 1]; and 48% (559) lower than the previous four-year average (2013-2016) [Figure 21].
