Sites of Zou and Ma Migration in the Qing APPENDIX F Sites of Zou and Ma Migration in the Qing The information on Zou and Ma migration is drawn from the generational charts of the three primary genealogies, the MSDZZP (1945), FYZSZP (1947), and MTLZXZSZP (1911). Since precise dates of migration are given only very rarely, I have estimated the probable time of migration from the birth and death dates given. “Zou1” refers to the upper-shrine Zou lineage; “Zou2” to the lower-shrine. The table is organized by province, prefecture, and county. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Late 17th– Late 18th– Late 19th– early 18th mid-19th early 20th Bookselling Location century century century site ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Anhui province Wuyuan 婺源 county (site of Ma migration in the late 16th c.) ZooKeys 923: 15–32. https://doi.org/10.3897/zookeys.923.48593 Abstract A faunistic and ecological survey was conducted to document the diversity of freshwater atyid shrimps of Dawanshan Island. Two species of Caridina that occur on this island were documented and discussed. One of these, Caridina tetrazona sp. nov. is described and illustrated as new to science. It can be easily distinguished from its congeners based on a combination of characters, which includes a short rostrum, the shape of the endopod of the male first pleopod, the segmental ratios of antennular peduncle and third maxilliped, the slender scaphocerite, and the absence of a median projection on the posterior margin.

I. Project Context Country Context China’s economy grew 10 percent a year on average over the last three decades. Over 500 million Public Disclosure Authorized people were lifted out of poverty during this time (World Bank and Development Research Center of the State Council, 2013). Since the national law on compulsory education was passed in 1982, access to education has significantly improved. While the basic education cycle spans 15 years, a nine-year education cycle comprising primary and junior secondary school is compulsory for the nation’s children. The adult literacy rate has increased from 66 percent in 1982 to 96 percent in 2015. In addition to improvements in access, results from international student assessments – such as the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development’s (OECD) Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) – demonstrate that the country is home to some of the best performing school systems in the world (World Bank, 2016). This socioeconomic progress of the past 30 years has raised the well-being of the population. China has made large strides in human development in terms of increased average life expectancy, education, and average income.

This study takes Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province as an example to study tourists' perception of local tourist food image. The research method uses the Kelly grid technique. Through interviews with 24 tourists who have travelled to Shaoguan, 36 key constructs are obtained, and they are divided into cognitive and emotional constructs. Seven final representative constructs are presented. After sub-analysis, it was found that Shaoguan's tourism food development is lagging behind, the food environment needs to be improved, and the lack of representative food in the city, etc., and proposed to establish representative tourism food, improve dietary hygiene awareness, and use the Internet to increase publicity and other optimization development suggestions. attractiveness; from the perspective of tourism economy, tourism food can increase tourism income; from the 1 Introduction perspective of tourists, tourism food can enrich the In 2021, due to the impact of the new crown pneumonia tourism experience. epidemic, international travel will be restricted, and Therefore, this research starts with tourist food, domestic tourism and short-distance travel will increase analyzes tourists’ perception of Shaoguan’s food image, during the normalization and control phase of the finds problems, finds out countermeasures, and improves epidemic in China. the tourist attraction of Shaoguan. The genetic diversity has great signicance to the optimization of germplasm resources and protection of populations, but that of A. villosum is unclear. In this study, we analyzed the genetic diversity and genetic structures of A. villosum populations in Guangdong and constructed a local reference DNA barcode library for the purpose of more appropriate protecting measures. Methods DNA barcoding and ISSR markers were used to investigate the population genetics of A. villosum. Five universal DNA barcodes were amplied and constructed a DNA barcode reference library. Parameters including percentage of polymorphic sites (PPB), number of alleles (Na), effective number of alleles (Ne), Nei's gene diversity index (H) and Shannon's polymorphism information index (I) were calculated for the assessment of genetic diversity.

PORTER3 1State Key Laboratory of Integrated Management of Pest Insects and Rodents, Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100101, China 2E-mail: [email protected] 3USDA-ARS, Center for Medical, Agricultural and Veterinary Entomology, 1600 SW 23rd Drive, Gainesville, FL 32608 ABSTRACT The red imported fire ant, Solenopsis invicta Buren is a serious invasive insect that is native to South America. Its presence was officially announced in mainland China in Jan 2005. To date, it has been identified in 4 provinces in mainland China (Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, Fujian) in a total of 31 municipal districts. The total area reported to be infested by S. invicta in late 2006 was about 7,120 ha, mainly in Guangdong Province (6,332 ha). Most of the re- ported human stings are in the heavily infested area around Wuchuan City. The most com- monly reported reactions have been abnormal redness of the skin, sterile pustules, hives, pain, and/or fever. It has been predicted that most of mainland China is viable habitat for red imported fire ants, including 25 of 31 provinces. The probable northern limit of expan- sion reaches Shandong, Tianjing, south Henan, and Shanxi provinces. Traditional and new insecticides including the bait N-butyl perfluorooctane sulfonamide and the contact insecti- cide Yichaoqing have been developed and used to control S. invicta. The Ministry of Agricul- ture and the Chinese government have established an 8-year eradication program (2006 to 2013) for S.

Abstract Both Fankou and Lechang lead/zinc (Pb/Zn) mine tailings located at Guangdong Province contained high levels of total and DTPA-extractable Pb, Zn and Cu. Paspalum distichum and Cynodon dactylon were dominant species colonized naturally on the tailings. Lead, zinc and copper accumulation and tolerance of different populations of the two grasses growing on the tailings were investigated. Tillers of these populations including those from an uncontaminated area were subjected to the following concentra- tions: 5, 10, 20, 30 and 40 mg lÀ1 Pb, 2.5, 5, 10, 20 and 30 mg lÀ1 Zn, or 0.25, 0.50, 1 and 2 mg lÀ1 Cu for 14 days, respectively, then tolerance index (TI) and EC50 (the concentrations of metals in solutions which reduce 50% of normal root growth) were calculated. The results indicated that both Lechang and Fankou populations of the two grasses showed a greater tolerance to the three metals than those growing on the uncontaminated area, which suggested that co-tolerant ecotypes have evolved in the two grasses.
