In spite of it different medicinal plants had been used by tribal community of the area for curing different sufferings and disorders. The purpose of the present study is to see the sights and document the medicinal plants used against various ailments by the tribal community of Tral area of district Pulwama. During the survey from April to October 2018, 20 different medicinal plant species belonging to same number of genera and 11 different families were found to be used as operative remedies. The present study exposed that either whole plant or some plant parts are used to cure diverse ailments. It was also detected that bulk of plant species are used to treat more than one disease. The data related like scientific, native and family names of these selected medicinal plants along with their parts used, mode of management and ethno medicinal uses are presented in this paper.

Paramjeet 1,2M.Tech Scholar, 3Assistant Professor GEC Panipat Abstract: The increasing volume of traffic in built up areas of the developing countries and the physical capacities is resulting in increase in travel time and severe congestion scenario. The disparity between demand and supply is the result of fast improving socioeconomics of the people resulting in steep rise of vehicle ownership, accompanied by slow development of transportation infrastructure. The construction of highway bypasses has resulted in many economic benefits both for Inter City motorists as well as residents of towns bypassed. Pattan is one such town of J&K wherein roads coming from different villages, various districts, sub districts leading to town have lately experienced sudden increase in traffic volumes. Large traffic volume is the prime cause of traffic congestion which in turn increases travel time, vehicle operation cost as well as maintenance cost. Pathan is a hub of road communication of Northern part of Kashmir. At present the most important India - Pakistan national highway is connected with Pattan town through that single road which passes through the heart of town. By developing bypass MDRs will get directly connected to NH44 (Jammu- Srinagar highway) without touching centre of town thereby, reducing the traffic volume and shortening travel time. However bypasses also have environmental and economic consequences. This road network will have a great influence on the commercial development of Pattan. The results are expected to help the authorities in framing and prioritizing the improvement schemes.

Don) Royle. or the Western Himalayan fir is a conifer that grows 13 all along the Himalayan mountains from Afghanistan to Nepal. The plant is shade loving and 14 prefer to grow roughly between 2000 – 3000 meters above sea level and often remains 15 intermixed with other species. Mobility, Pastoralism Livelihood pattern of Bakarwals constitutes mostly of herding animals, and seasonal migration plays an all-important role in attaining the same. With the exhaustion of winter pastures in plains, they move to the highland pastures in Greater Himalayas in early spring along with their herds and household items by crossing various passes in the Pir Panjal and Siwalik ranges. Melting snow, gusty winds, dangerous ravines and valleys along with threats of the wild pose high risks to the health and lives of this people and their livestock. Moreover, various factors have led to the loss of this age-old tradition and the Bakarwals are quickly adopting a settled way of life. Data about the study has been collected through various ethnographic techniques among the community in the intervening pastures of the Kashmir valley. Introduction South Asia is home to the world’s most of the nomadic communities and yet the scholarly interest for nomadism in this region is meagre (Rao, 2003). The boat-shaped valley of Kashmir, that forms the part of Indian administered union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, is encircled by the Pir Panjal ranges and the Himalayan ranges from south and north respectively and is home to a few pastoral communities who traverse the mighty peaks with their herds.
