Magnificent seven Spotlight on… Stagecoach Manchester Green Team

THE STAGECOACH Manchester Green Team was established to help improve the company’s environmental performance, and they have done a great job. For the year to April 2011, Manchester has recycled 93% of its total waste while reducing its total energy usage by 19%, saving 380 metric tonnes of carbon. This has been achieved by introducing energy-saving measures such as motion sensors for lights and push-button taps, and investing in more efficient lighting and heating. Waste is separated in-house and managed by a specialist recycling company to ensure Stagecoach’s carbon footprint is reduced further.
