A 28-year photojournalist for the News & Record in Greensboro, Wolford made the heartwrenching decision to leave his position in July and now works full-time with Perfecta Visuals, which he co-founded with fellow photojournalist Scott Muthersbaugh. In 2015, Wolford was named the National Photojournalist of the Year by the National Press Pho- tographers Association (smaller markets), was the N.C. Press Photographers Association portfolio Photographer of the Year for the fourth time and earned the title of N.C. Press Photographers Association Hugh Morton Photographer of the Year (daily newspapers).

His photos have been published by magazines, newspapers and websites around the world. Although his work has kept him an arm’s length from history hundreds of times, he feels his strengths are in photographing everyday people. Wolford approaches his work with the concept of “real photos from simple moments.”
