Gym Equipment request - from Faye Cox

This year we were hoping to buy a new piece of equipment at our local gym that would allow its users to access a platform of virtual fitness videos including Jillian Michaels, Zumba and Strong by Zumba, Les Mills, and more. However due to the recent Covid-19 sit- uation, our gym has had to closed and now has lost its income which it would have used to buy this new equipment. This piece of equipment will enable a small community to access unlimited fitness programmes and workouts to do at any time either on their own, with friends or family or as a class. I am now offering online classes and free home workouts through an app over the next 8 weeks to help raise funds for the equipment instead and would be grateful for any donations. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/empowerfundraiser Unst Health Centre News

We want to remind our community that even during this pandemic, if you are feeling un- well, having symptoms that are causing concern or are being treated for a long term seri- ous health condition, please seek help as you usually would.

Anticipatory Care Plan: Some of you may have received an anticipatory care plan (ACP) in the post and be asking what is it and why am I being asked to complete one, or I don’t need to do it, I feel fine. An ACP is about ‘thinking ahead’ for you. Right now, is a great time to think about you and your health. Conversations are happening amongst family and friends about caring for loved ones. It might get you thinking about what you want for you. Although you don’t need to be a certain age and you don’t need to have a long term condi- tion, at this time we are sending out an ACP to anyone who has been identified as vulnera- ble or high risk during the COVID19 pandemic. These include anyone over the age of 69 have a long term condition, that you have an annual review for such as asthma or dia- betes to name a few. ACPs are not new in , they have been around for a number of years and are some- thing we want everyone to think about. There is a short document that you can get either from the health centre, access online (myacp.scot) or a smartphone app to help you make informed choices about how and where you want to be treated and supported in the future. The health centre staff are here to help and work with you. Take a look at the website or call us to chat. We would be more than happy to support you in completing it.

Attend Anywhere (video consultations) As we move forward over the next few months, the health centre will be looking to trial the use of video consultations. We may be in touch with people around the island to test the technology. We are aware that NHS Shetland is having to look at new ways to move forward with patient care and video consultations may become part of your routine care.

If you would like to test out the technology for yourself, please use the link below. https:// nhs.attendanywhere.com/callers Hand Cream Sponsorship request Donna Johnson, Unst district nurse and relief Care worker, is looking for people to sponsor hand-creams for the NHS. She is a rep for “Bodyshop” and is putting all her commission towards providing more creams. To sponsor bottles at £4 each, send to her by Paypal at [email protected] or contact her for other payment methods. She has a Facebook page too, where you can message her. Your name will appear on the Sponsors list when creams are distributed to the Gilbert Bain Hospital, Health Centres and Care Centres.
