(b) Important achievements of NCC and NSS units in the college/institute Unit Important Achievements NSS "Independence Day" was celebrated in a befitting manner on 15th August, 2015 NSS "NSS Day" was celebrated on 24th September by NSS Unit of Silapathar College. The programme started with flag hosting of NSS flag by Programme Officer Mr. Raju Pegu. Different activities were carried out on cleaning of Bus Station, Railway Station, etc. NSS "World Aids Day" was observed on 1st December, 2019 by IQAC and NSS Unit, Silapathar College. To mark the programme street rally was taken out by the NSS volunteers with play cards on AIDS. Awareness programme was also organized. NSS "Youth Parliament-2019" was organized by NSS Unit & IQAC, Silapathar College on 24th January, 2019. The Programme was sponsored by Ministry of Youth Affairs, Govt. of India. District level competition was held among the college of Dhemaji District. 55 participants took part in the competition. Sri Banjit Chetia of Silapathar College bagged 1st, Nabakanta Boruah of Silapathar Science College 2nd, Sri Bikram Boruah of Simen Chapori College 3rd, Sri Mintu Kalita of Dhemaji College 4th and Minal Singh of Silapathar College 3rd Prize. NSS "International Women's Day" was celebrated in collaboration with Morcha G. Bordoloi Enterprise by IQAC and NSS Unit, Silapathar College. The programme was named as "MAA" where 60 old age women were distributed mekhela sadar. NSS "Seven Days Special Camp" was organized at adopted village Thekeraguri gaon, Kulajan Pam, Silapathar by NSS volunteers from 24th April to 30th April, 2019. Different activities like awareness programme on health and Hygiene, house hold visit on sanitary system, drawing competitions among School Children, health check up and extension of school building were carried out during the seven days programme. NSS "World Environment Day-2019" was observed by IQAC and NSS Unit, Silapathar College in a befitting manner. 30 saplings were planted in adopted village at Thekeraguri Gaon and College Campus. NSS "International Day of Yoga" was celebrated on 21st June, 2019 with a day long programme. The programme was jointly organized by IQAC and NSS Unit, Silapathar College. 17.
