Borough of Eastleigh Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Section 14 Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Eastleigh Borough NOTICE BOROUGH OF EASTLEIGH ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14 TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF VARIOUS ROADS, EASTLEIGH BOROUGH By arrangements made under section 19 of the Local Government Act 2000 with Hampshire County Council, notice is hereby given that Eastleigh Borough Council proposes to make a temporary closure order pursuant to the legislation above as the Council is satisfied that traffic on the road(s) below should be restricted because works are proposed to be executed on or near the road, the effect of which is detailed below. Reason for Closure: For Hampshire County Council to carry out improvements to the highway. Period of Closure: The order will be effective from 10th April 2017 for 18 months. However the expected duration of the works are specified in the table below. Access will be maintained where possible.     December 2020 Foreword from District Commander Chief Inspector Marcus Cator Welcome to the December edition of the Policing Eastleigh partnership newsletter – it comes with a round-up of our work over the past few months and some of the plans for the future. This year has been extremely challenging for all, and policing has had its equal challenges. The impact of Covid-19 on us all has been significant across our communities and also impacted upon the types of incident and crimes we have been managing. Trying to get the balance right, to keep on top of those who insist on committing offences, whilst trying to support the public health focus of trying to manage the impact of a pandemic has been extraordinary. I can only applaud all keyworkers and all of those hard working members of society, who have had to try and keep pace on these challenging times. From schooling at home (I have a refreshed respect for those in education!), working from home and trying to keep our families safe, the challenges have had a significant impact on everyone’s welfare and mental health. Despite this, some good news in relation to new faces joining the team! Inspector Louise Hubble has recently joined the district, who comes with a wealth of knowledge and understanding of rural crime and 21 years’ experience of policing. Louise will be joining Hedge End Sector and supporting Sgt Stu Jackson and T/Sgt Ian Simpson’s teams. Alongside this, we have six new officers joining us under the latest recruitment campaigns from Hampshire Constabulary; two have started in November, two more join us in December and then two more in January.

    Amiri win £4 million project with Lumenisity® Limited in Romsey Amiri start new build of clean rooms and laboratory refurbishment for leading fibre optic cable solutions developer Lumenisity® Limited Amiri Construction are starting on a £4 million new build of a facility to house multiple optical fibre draw towers, associated support laboratories and internal refurbishments. The project located at Lumenisity’s headquarters in Romsey, sees the refurbishment of part of the existing industrial building with land adjacent to the property for the new build. A link corridor connects the current building to the new tower rooms. The project is due to be completed in the Summer of 2021.     Archaeology in Hampshire Annual Report 2005 BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE Basingstoke Skippett’s House (SU 64012 50613) (Site UID: 2143) Geophysical survey A magnetic survey of the land surrounding Skippett’s House in Basingstoke was done by CGMS. Initial concerns over the quality of data due to recent tree felling work were not realized and several linear responses were identified that may be of archaeological origin. Other anamolies were identified, but remain ambiguous. Deane Banjo Enclosure, Oakley Park (SU 55840 49370) (Site UID: 36887) Fieldwalking Systematic collection by Basingstoke Archaeology and History Society recovered burnt flints and Iron Age pottery sherds. East Woodhay Hayes (SU 40171 62312) (Site UID: 56669) Building survey The survey was carried out by CKC Archaeology. The core of this building appears to have been a lobby-entry house with a queen post roof. Such a house would be typical of the 17th century. All that remains from this phase is the central stack, the attached dog-leg staircase and some fragments of the original roof. Farleigh Wallop Farleigh Wallop (SU 61050 47670) (Site UID: 36367) Fieldwalking The survey was carried out by Basingstoke Archaeological and Historical Society. Finds from the walk mainly comprised pieces of worked flint, including one 'D-shaped' scraper, suggesting a Neolithic presence. Hannington Tidgrove Warren Farm (SU 51707 54255) (Site UID: 57174) Geophysical survey The survey by Archaeological Prospection Services was successful in locating a number of features associated with the Romano-British settlement at Tidgrove Warren Farm. The results show the extent and nature of the settlement as a whole, including the outer and inner enclosures, and associated structural remains, plus evidence of agricultural activity.
