Most will attribute that to the draft picks, but there were plenty of UDFA assistance to a surprisingly successful year for the Colts as well. Today, Zach Hicks joins Matt Danely as they talk to Colts’ safety, and UDFA George Odum. Odum was part of an everchanging roster, and safety position for the Colts in 2018. We saw T.J. Green shown the door Kenny Moore Jersey Stitched , and Matthias Farley lose out on most of the season due to injury. Odum became a vital part of a safety corps that also gained influential veteran Mike Mitchell, and was a key position in the success of a very young defense. Odum was an excellent special teams contributor, and was third at the position in total tackles despite only starting two games for the Colts.Odum looks to possibly be a long-term piece in a defense going through a massive youth movement in Chris Ballard’s third full season as GM. Making his second season that much more interesting is the Colts’ situation at safety. Most of the 2018 safety group are free agents, and the team could very well be in the hunt for an unquestioned starter opposite Malik Hooker.Odum isn’t worried about all of that though. Odum is quite confident in his abilities, his willingness to work harder than anyone else, and the fact that he cherishes every opportunity he gets on the field. Odum was a fun interview Youth Eric Ebron Jersey , and was candid about his outlook to being in the NFL and doesn’t rely on a chip on his shoulder from being an UDFA. He feels that he belongs in the NFL, and has everything he needs to remain a success in the league with his diverse skillset. Please subscribe, rate and review the channel anywhere you listen to podcasts.Follow our hosts on Twitter: @MDanelySB | @HolderStephen | @chrisblystoneStampede Blue Podcast Links:Apple Podcasts | Stitcher | Megaphone | SB Colts Cast YT Channel | Google | Spotify The 2019 NFL Draft is upon us, and it is time to see if Chris Ballard and the Colts’ scouting staff can pull off another incredible performance like the one from last year. OFFENSE RULES THE FIRST: The 2020 NFL Draft featured 18 offensive players selected in the first round, tied for the fourth-most in the common draft era, trailing only the 1968, 2004 and 2009 NFL Drafts (19). HEISMANS GO FIRST: The Cincinnati Bengals selected Heisman-winning quarterback JOE BURROW with the first-overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Along with the first-overall selections of KYLER MURRAY (Arizona, 2019) and BAKER MAYFIELD (Cleveland, 2018), it marks the first time in the common draft era that a Heisman winner was chosen with the No. 1 pick in three consecutive NFL Drafts. With his selection at No. 1, Burrow joins CAM NEWTON (Carolina, 2011) as the only quarterbacks to win the Heisman Trophy, National Championship and be selected with the first-overall pick in the same calendar year in the common draft era. BUCKEYES AT THE TOP: Washington selected Ohio State defensive end CHASE YOUNG with the second-overall pick while Detroit picked Ohio State defensive back JEFF OKUDAH third-overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. Along with the selections of DENZEL WARD (Cleveland, No. 4 overall in 2018) and NICK BOSA (San Francisco, No. 2 in 2019), Ohio State becomes the first school to have a defensive player selected in the top-five in three consecutive Drafts in the common draft era. Young and Okudah are the first pair of college teammates to be chosen with consecutive top-three selections since the 2000 NFL Draft, when Penn State saw COURTNEY BROWN (Cleveland, No.

  • S Chase Young and Jeff Okudah Are Unanimous First-Team All-Americans
Ohio State’s Chase Young and Jeff Okudah Are Unanimous First-Team All-Americans Ohio State’s most dominant members of the defense have officially become unanimous First-Team All- Americans. Junior defensive end Chase Young and junior cornerback Jeff Okudah were both named to First-Team All-Americans by the Football Writers Association of America, the fifth of the major publications to give Young and Okudah first team honors. The other four to honor Young and Okudah, along with the FWAA, was the American Football Coaches Association, Associated Press, Sporting News and Walter Camp Football Foundation, each of which put the duo on their first teams. Young and Okudah are the 30th and 31st Ohio State players to be named unanimous All-Americans, and the first players since center Billy Price in 2017, and the first defensive player for the Buckeyes since safety Malik Hooker in 2016. The pair is also the first duo of Ohio State players to win since Hooker and center Pat Elflein earned the honor in 2016. Overall, the Buckeyes have now had 35 selections — Howard “Hopalong” Cassady, Bob Ferguson, Archie Griffin and Orlando Pace were all unanimous selections twice — trailing only Oklahoma’s 36 for the most all-time. Along with Young and Okudah, junior running back J.K. Dobbins was also selected as a First-Team All- American by the FWAA, but as the all-purpose selection while Oklahoma State’s Chuba Hubbard and Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor earned the running back spots. Sophomore quarterback Justin Fields and sophomore guard Wyatt Davis were both second-team selections by the FWAA, putting Davis one first-team selection away from being a consensus All- American.

The regular starters at each position are listed first and should be used most frequently. Realistic use of the players below will generate statistical results remarkably similar to those from real life. IMPORTANT: When a Red "K" appears in the R-column as the result on any kind of running play from scrimmage or on any return, roll the dice again, refer to the K-column, and use the number there for the result. When a player has a "K" in his R-column, he can never be used for kicking or punting. If the symbol "F-K" or "F-P" appears on a players card, it means that you use the K or P column when he recovers a fumble. Players highlighted in yellow played for two or more teams.
