T We are so happy to be at the con- vention this year after a two-year absence, and we hope you’re just as excited for the week ahead as we are. ALOA 2021 is your chance to imagine a better future for yourself or your business. Think of all that you will gain from the classes and networking! You have access to so many events while you are here. Take a look at the schedule on pages 10-14 to plan your time here. On Wednes- day, we have the Women in Locksmithing Reception, and on Thurs- day, don’t miss the Kick-Off Party! Before you head to that, attend the IAIL and AIL meetings and the State of the States meeting (you must be a member to attend that one). Stay up to date on all the leg- islative and division happenings! There are other events throughout the week, so be sure to look at the schedule. For the Security Expo, plan to take the full two days to browse the show floor. There are exhibitors from all parts of the industry, from tools and sofware to door hardware and automotive. There are many new exhibitors this year, so be sure to stop by and thank them for sup- porting ALOA. Don’t forget to go vote for the best new product in the New Product Showcase. We hope you enjoy our new-to-us venue this year. This is a wonderful location close to all the Orlando attractions, and it’s a convenient property to get around in. Area sights are a short cab or Uber ride away, and the hotel even has a shuttle to select Disney properties. But there’s also a lot to eat and do on site as well, so take advantage of the restaurants, spa, pool complex and more. Again, welcome to ALOA 2021, and enjoy this week of everyone being back together. You’re sure to have a great time. Jim Wiedman, CML President ALOA Security Professionals Association, Inc. [email protected] 2 64th ALOA Convention & Security Expo Message from the Executive Director Welcome to ALOA 2021! e are so glad you’ve chosen to be a part of the ALOA 2021 Conven- Wtion & Security Expo in Orlando! We are so excited to be here with everyone this week. You’ve set yourself up for a bright future by taking classes to learn new skills and making invaluable new contacts at all of the events and casual get-togethers. At the Security Expo, you’ll have hands-on access to the latest products from major suppliers and manufacturers. View product demonstrations, ask questions and take advantage of show spe- cials. You’ll have a chance to win several great prizes in the hourly drawings on the show floor (and you can purchase extra tickets to increase your chance of winning!). You can win prizes all the way up to a full ALOA 2022 full registration package. Stick around until 4 p.m. on Sunday, as you have to be present to win. Don’t forget to also stop by the ALOA Scholarship Foundation booth, where you can buy raffle tickets to win prizes and support industry education at the same time. The Kick-Off Party Thursday evening at 7 p.m. is a don’t-miss event. This free party is always a good time, so stop by for some food, drinks and catching up with old friends. And if you’re a woman in any part of the industry, be sure to attend the Women in Locksmith- ing reception Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. This is always a great gathering, and I look forward to seeing you all there. Perhaps the most important event, though, is the Membership Meet- ing on Friday at 8:30 a.m. Attend to get updates on the latest association happenings, hear some fellow members get honored and give some feedback. This is also a great time to get to know the board and staff or catch one of us for a quick question. Please note that if you have not been vaccinated, we ask that you please wear a mask. Masks are available at Registration. Thanks so much for attending ALOA 2021. We hope you have a wonderful week. Here’s to a bright future for you and the industry! Mary A.
