Albemarle Regional Health Services and Vidant Bertie Hospital are proud to partner and provide this comprehensive report which illustrates the health status,health needs and improvements,as well as health resources in our community. This document represents months of diligent work by health department staff, hospital staff, and community members like you. We have continued to work together throughout the past several years to develop and implement strategies to target needs identified in the 2010 CHA process. These efforts have resulted in more positive health outcomes in our communities and we are pleased to include areas of improvement in this report. Moving forward,we will use this report to guide us in developing and implementing strategies and engaging partners to address the current needs identified in the 2013 process. The first phase of this process is forming a CHA Leadership Team. This group of movies includes independent feature-length films, documentaries, short and experimental films and videos. They closely engage with the unique conditions of Malaysia’s economic development, ethnic relationships, and cultural practices, which together comprise significant understandings of the nationhood of Malaysia.     BRUCE THOMAS PUMPS IT UP WITH ELVIS COSTELLO by Dan Forte Guitar Player March 1987 EVERYTHING ABOUT ELVIS Costello -his intelligent and prolific songwriting, impassioned singing, horn-rimmed visual image, ever-changing stylistic jaunts,even his anti-hero guitar playing -is so all-pervasive that his trio of sidemen, the Attractions, seems all but anonymous. (A magazine that just named Costello artist.of the year for 1986 only three years earlier misidentified the members of the Attractions in a photo caption.) But if Elvis is to be commended for his stylistic daring, the Attractions deserve equal praise for their ability to follow him down every idiomatic path, with their original fire and indelible individualism intact. Of all of Costello's talents, perhaps his strongest suit is as bandleader - not only for keeping a group together for a decade, but for choosing the musicians he did to make up his backing band. The Attractions have been together since 1977, in which time they've recorded 11 albums (plus a Best Of collection) since Elvis' debut, My Aim Is True. And night after night they have proved that at least one band (coincidentally virtually the only surviving band) from England’s punk era can play and always could. After recording his auspicious debut with uncredited backing from the American band Clover (including guitarist John McFee, currently with Southern Pacific), Declan "Elvis Costello" MacManus settled on piamst Steve Nieve, drummer Pete Thomas, and (no relation) bassist Bruce Thomas, after aluditioning, in the bassist's, words "hundreds of guys who couldn't tune up or put the guitar on right." The group's first effort, This Year's Model, not only squelched any fears of a,sophomore jinx; it kicked in with more muscle than Aim and signaled the arrival of a distinct new collective musical personality.

This year has certainly been like no other and the response and actions from our businesses and citizens alike has been inspiring and revealing of the resilience of Pitt County and its people. While the year as Chairman may have been challenging due to the Pandemic, it still provided the opportunity to work alongside our members, regularly interacting with business of all sizes, non-profits, healthcare, education and local government. In a time of change and challenge, we saw our community rally around local businesses and non-profits more than ever before. Our local educators transitioned over night from teaching as they always have to the virtual classroom. Retailers, restaurants, fitness facilities and cultural venues quickly adapted to offer social media and online sales to continue their work and retain their talented workforce. Some businesses even pivoted to producing the Personal Protective Equipment that we all needed to remain safe. No matter the challenge we face, Pitt County and its people continue to pull together and persevere.

Appendix – About Health ENC and Conduent HCI 46 1 Introduction Sentara Albemarle Medical Center (SAMC) has conducted a community health needs assessment of the area that we serve. The assessment provides us with a picture of the health status of the residents in our communities and provides us with information about health and health‐related problems that impact health status. This assessment was carried out in partnership with Albemarle Regional Health Services (ARHS), Health ENC1, and Conduent Healthy Communities Institute in the area that we serve, including Camden, Currituck, Gates, Pasquotank, and Perquimans Counties. County level data and community findings for each county were provided by Conduent Healthy Communities Institute, with The Duke Endowment as the fiscal sponsor. During the assessment process, these data and findings were explored to better understand the unique sociodemographic and health issues relevant to each county. Our assessment includes a review of population characteristics such as age, educational level, and racial and ethnic composition because social factors are important determinants of health. The assessment also looks at risk factors like obesity and smoking and at health indicators such as infant mortality and cancer incidence rates. Community input is important so the assessment also includes survey results from a community survey, as well as findings from focus groups with community members on health issues and barriers to achieving good health.
