Zou Shiming collected his first professional knockout victory on February 22 -- his last appearance at Cotai Arena -- stopping the formidable Yokthong Kokietgym in the seventh round. The Special Elite WBO International Flyweight Championship is only sanctioned for bouts that feature a fighter of elite stature, such as Zou Shiming who has won three World Amateur Championships in addition to his two Olympic gold medals. Though the list is small by design, past recipients of this honour include: Manny Pacquiao, Juan Manuel Márquez and Vasyl Lomachenko, who fought for this prestigious title before challenging for a world championship. Pacquiao won this when he fought Brandon Rios last year at the Cotai Arena. The winner will receive the Special Elite WBO International Belt which is specially designed with Swarovski Crystal stones in a beautiful assortment of jewel colors on the crown, detailed in a Gold Mirror finish, with two hand crafted emblems of the faces of the two fighters elevated into perfection to distinguish both fighters' features. It is one of the most unique championship belts in boxing.

Champions of Gold -- an exciting world championship boxing event -- will feature three Olympic gold medalists with five gold medals between them. In addition to Zou Shiming, undefeated WBA/WBO champion and two-time Cuban Olympic gold medalist (13-0, 8 KOs), of Miami, Florida, will defend his titles against two-time world title challenger Sod Looknongyangtoy (63-2-1, 27 KOs), of Petchaboon, Thailand and 2012 Russian Olympic gold medalist Egor Mekhontsev (3- 0, 3 KOs), of Asbest, Russia, will take on undefeated Mike Merafuentes (2-0, 2 KOs), in a six-round collision of light heavyweight prospects who have won all their fights by knockout. Mekhontsev made his Cotai Arena debut on February 22, knocking out Atthaporn Jaritram in the second round.

The Champions of Gold undercard will also feature undefeated No. 2 world-rated contender Gilberto Ramirez (28-0, 22 KOs), of Mzatlan, Mexico, defending his NABF/NABO super middleweight titles against Junior Talipeau (20-2-1, 7 KOs), of Kogarah, New Zealand.
