BLOHARDS.COM Three-Ring Thursday September 4, 2014, 12:00 Noon EDT – High Balls and Infield Practice: 11:30 a.m. Yale Club – 50 Vanderbilt Avenue (between 44th and 45th) Beloved Bartering Bosox @ Bank-Breaking Bronx Bastids – 7:05 p.m. “Welcome to Kansas City on the Charles.” — Dan Shaughnessy This just in – Jon Lester, Jonny Gomes, John Lackey, Stephen Drew, Felix Doubront, and Jake Peavy send their regrets about not being available for our second and final luncheon of the 2014 season. At least they didn’t request a demotion to Triple-A to avoid us, as seven or eight players over the years have done. Clearly, there is much to discuss about the current and future state of the Red Sox…and we have put together a lineup of productive and affordable luncheon guests, each of whom is under team control through at least 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 4th. We are delighted to welcome Ian Browne, the Red Sox reporter for MLB.com, for a conversation around all things Red Sox, including his new book, Idiots Revisited: Catching Up With the Red Sox Who Won the 2004 World Series. Ian will also be available before and after the luncheon to sign his “endearing, entertaining” book which will be available for $15. There are no automatic outs among our remaining guests. Star closer Dr. Charles Steinberg, WFAN’s and MLB Radio’s Ed Randall, EVP Ray Duffy’s slideshow, trivia and prizes with John Quinn, and the State of the State of the State with Gov. (indicted) Chris Wertz. Fenway PA announcer/poet/writer/All-Around Great Guy, Dick Flavin, will be making the trip down from Quincy. And just confirmed – Official Crooner and Visitor from the East, John Pizzarelli, who sadly just removed “Lackey’s Back in Town” from his luncheon setlist. Come out to renew friendships and see old faces – and BLOHARDS’ gatherings consistently deliver no shortage of old faces. Annual dues (for 2014/2015) are still $20.00 cheap. Lifetime Membership – which comes with an unlaminated membership card that must last a lifetime – will set you back just $150. Luncheon reservations necessary. Chickens must be rounded up, tables set. $75 per person – includes lunch, taxes, gratuities, coffee, “entertainment” You can pay for the luncheon on the website – http://blohards.com/?nav=dues Or bring/send a check – Julie Killian, 42 Forest Avenue, Rye, NY 10580 914 967 2782 Home…914 548 3588 Cell [email protected].
