Addresses the HDR needs of the industry from Device Manufacturers to HDR content Post-Production. Joint effort with Teledyne LeCroy and industry experts Florian Friedrich and Joe Kane. The solutions use the 980 HDMI 2.0 Video Generator module. Verifies HDR metadata, color grading and color decoding throughout the post production process. Uses a variety of test patterns to verify HDR attributes such as: peak brightness, native contrast, average brightness level, signal clipping, and color gamut on an HDR-capable UHD TV. 980B w/ HDMI 2.0 Video Generator UHDTV 980 HDMI 2.0 Video Generator module – Select HDR Lab Test Patterns HDR Lab Test Pattern (examples): Combination Test Pattern: – Provides a quick overview of display conditions for black level, white level, HDR/SDR mode, color, gray scale with bit depth, resolution, overscan, color decoding, and a 50% gray level. – Provides example of images color graded for HDR-10, P3 color, mastered at 1,000 nits. 980B w/ HDMI 2.0 Video Generator UHDTV 980 HDMI 2.0 Video Generator module – Select HDR Lab Test Patterns HDR Lab Test Pattern (examples): Clipping Test Pattern: – Enables clipping, tone mapping, peak luminance and adherence to PQ curve to be assessed subjectively by inspection. 980B w/ HDMI 2.0 Video Generator UHDTV 980 HDMI 2.0 Video Generator module – Select HDR Lab Test Patterns HDR Lab Test Pattern (examples): Luma Resolution Test Pattern: – Provides a quick human inspection pattern to subjectively test for proper handling of resolution without any color involved. – Uses 1 to 100 nits in HDR mode to ensure that there is no clipping. – Visual check for aliasing. 980B w/ HDMI 2.0 Video Generator UHDTV 980 HDMI 2.0 Video Generator module – Select HDR Lab Test Patterns HDR Lab Test Pattern (examples): Chroma Resolution Test Pattern: – Provides a quick human inspection pattern to subjectively test for proper handling of chroma subsampling and chroma resolution. – Visual check for aliasing. 980B w/ HDMI 2.0 Video Generator UHDTV 980 HDMI 2.0 Video Generator module – Select HDR Lab Test Patterns HDR Lab Test Pattern (examples): Pluge Test Pattern: – Provides visual elements to help assess/adjust the black level (brightness control) of a display in HDR mode. 980B w/ HDMI 2.0 Video Generator UHDTV 980 HDMI 2.0 Video Generator module – Select HDR Lab Test Patterns HDR Lab Test Pattern (examples): ColorBars Test Pattern: – Enbles assessment of color decoding. – Assists in determining the best operating positions of the Color of Tint control on a UHDTV 980B w/ HDMI 2.0 Video Generator UHDTV 980 HDMI 2.0 Video Generator module – Select HDR Lab Test Patterns HDR Lab Reference Image (examples): Castle Reference Image: – Offers rich dynamic range and detail that cannot be produced by a motion picture camera. – Used to gain a subjective assessment of the display’s ability to render details in a high dynamic range setting and also the ability to maintain detail within highly saturated colors. 980B w/ HDMI 2.0 Video Generator UHDTV 980 HDMI 2.0 Video Generator module – Select HDR Lab Ref.
