Thüringer Faunistische Abhandlungen VII 2000 S. 153 -161 Neue Funde von Oedipoda caerulescens (Linnaeus, 1758) und Sphingonotus caerulans (Linnaeus, 1767) (Caelifera: Oedipodinae) in Thüringen Carsten Renker & Roman Asshoff , Jena Zusammenfassung Im Rahmen der Erfassungen gefährdeter Heuschrecken in Thüringen wurden im Sommer des Jahres 2000 fünf Vorkommen der Blauflügeligen Ödlandschrecke ( Oedipoda caerulescens) auf Gleisanlagen von Bahnhöfen zwischen Jena und Neudietendorf (Mittelthüringen) nachgewiesen. Weiterhin werden zwei Funde der Blau flügeligen Sandschrecke ( Sphingonotus caerulans) in ebenfalls anthropogen beeinflußten Ruderalfluren mitgeteilt. Summary New records of O ed ip o d a caerulescens (Linnaeus, 1758) und Sphingonotus ca eru la n s (Linnaeus, 1767) (Caelifera: Oedipodinae) in Thuringia During investigations with focus on endangered grasshoppers in Thuringia in summer 2000, the blue-winged grasshopper Oedipoda caerulescens was proved for five sites located at railway stations between Jena and Neudietendorf. E in leitu n g Die auffälligen Vertreter aus der Unterfamilie der Ödlandschrecken (Oedipodinae) erfreuen sich in Deutschland schon seit langer Zeit der Aufmerksamkeit der Entomologen. Waren es in der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts vorwiegend biologische Themen, die die Forscher beschäftigten (Enslin 1921, Seitz 1921, Stadler 1921, Eisentraut 1926, 1927, Faber 1937), sind in den letzten Jahrzehnten zunehmend Fragen des Biotop- und Artenschutzes, insbesondere der beiden Oedipoda-kxXzw in den Vordergrund gerückt (N iehuis 1991, Sander 1995, Wagner 1995, 2000, Wagner & Berger 1996, Zöller 1995, A ppelt 1996, Appelt & Poethke 1997). Während Oedipoda germanica eine nach wie vor im Rückgang begriffene Art von Xerothermbiotopen ist und bundesweit als vom Aussterben bedroht gilt, nimmt die Zahl der Vorkommen anderer Vertretern dieser Unterfamilie in den letzten Jahren wieder zu. -

Accepted: 09.07.2021. The Orthoptera represent a crucial link in the food chains as primary consumers. They have long been recognized as crop pests causing extensive damage and thus, arousing scientific interest around their diet. This study aims to know the diet and trophic preferences of two locust species Oedipoda miniata mauritanica (Lucas, 1849) and Oedipoda caerulescens sulfurescens (Saussure, 1884), under natural conditions. The sampling was carried out in 2016 in Ghazaouet, a coastal region of Tlemcen subject to a sub- humid climate. We examined Feces contents by comparing the epidermal fragments of plants ingested by these two locusts with a reference collection prepared from plant species existing in the sampled biotope. This method is practical for field research as it is simple, fast, and objective. The food spectrum of the two Oedipodinae reveals their clear preference for three plant species over all the plants present in the study area, and each species chooses its food according to its availability and nutritional characteristics. Moreover, Oedipoda miniata mauritanica shows a great affinity towards the plant species Lavendula dentata, with a consumption rate > 59%, on the other hand, Oedipoda caerulescens sulfurescens prefers the plant species Lavendula multifida, with a consumption rate >50%. -

We studied a population of the Red-winged grasshopper Oedipoda germanica, which is a highly stenotypic and endangered species in Central Europe. The locality studied is completely isolated and at the northern limit of this species distribution (north-west of the Czech Republic). We used capture-mark-recapture in 3 consecutive years (2008–2010). We estimated the total population size using POPAN software to be 136 adults in 2008, 70 in 2009 and 122 in 2010. -
Die Rotflügelige Ödlandschrecke, Oedipoda Germanica (Latreille , [1804]) (Caelifera), Im Naturpark „Saale-Unstrut-Triasland“ (Sachsen-Anhalt)
Die Rotflügelige Ödlandschrecke, Oedipoda germanica (Latreille , [1804]) (Caelifera), im Naturpark „Saale-Unstrut-Triasland“ (Sachsen-Anhalt) von Michael WALLASCHEK Zusammenfassung Im Jahr 2005 wurde in einem Projekt zum Pflege- und Entwicklungskonzept des Naturparks „Saale-Unstrut-Triasland e.V.“ (Sachsen-Anhalt) in bekannten und potentiellen Lebensräumen der Rotflügeligen Ödlandschrecke, Oedipoda germanica (LATREILLE, [1804]), das Vorkommen der Art, die genaue Lage und Umgrenzung der Habitate, die Größe der Populationen und deren interne Gliederung, die Struktur der Biotope, die Lage von Ausbreitungsbarrieren oder -korridoren sowie die Gefährdung durch anthropogene und natürliche Faktoren untersucht. Im Naturpark konnten insgesamt vier aktuelle Fundgebiete dieser Kurzfühlerschreckenart mit zusammen sechs räumlich getrennten Populationen nachgewiesen werden: Göttersitz bei Naumburg, eine Population mit ca. 30 Tieren; Rödel bei Großwilsdorf, 2 Populationen mit ca. 15 und ca. 5 Tieren; Schafberg bei Zscheiplitz, zwei Populationen mit ca. 30 und ca. 150 Tieren; Steinbruch am Lohholz bei Weischütz, eine Population mit ca. 10 Tieren). Bei letzterem Fundort handelt es sich um den Erstnachweis, zugleich um den derzeit nördlichsten bekannten in Sachsen-Anhalt und im Areal. Im Altfimdort „Himmelreich“ bei Bad Kosen gelang dagegen die Bestätigung des Fundes von 1935 nicht. Ein Vergleich mit den Verhältnissen in anderen Teilen des Areals ergab, daß die Populationsgröße nur in einer Untersuchungsfläche auf dem Schafberg - zumindest theoretisch - -

Prevalence Rates of Microsporidia in Locusts and Grasshoppers in South-Western Russia

Locusts and grasshoppers are dangerous polyphagous pests of agricultural crops. In the present paper, results of screening of Acridoidea populations in the South-Western Russia for microsporidia infections including locusts Locusta migratoria, Dociostaurus maroccanus, and Calliptamus italicus and grasshoppers Chorthippus loratus, Oedipoda caerulescens, and Acrida bicolor, are presented. Microsporidia prevalence rates were estimated using light microscopy of fresh smears. Out of 179 specimens of L. migratoria sampled between 2002 and 2019 in Krasnodar Territory, Astrakhan and Rostov Regions, none was infected with microsporidia. Similarly, 95 specimens of D. marrocanus from Krasnodar Territory (2017) and Dagestan Republic (2009) were also negative for microsporidia. Meanwhile, one positive case was detected for C. italicus corresponding to 0.5 % for the total amount of 192 exemplars collected from 2002 to 2019 in Krasnodar Territory, Astrakhan and Rostov Regions. As for grasshoppers, all Ch. loratus samplings in Krasnodar Territory in 2017-2019 were infected at the prevalence rates of 2.2-15 %, though no infection was found in 40 specimens in Crimea in 2019. In 56 individuals of O. caerulescens collected from Rostov Region and Krasnodar Territory, the microsporidia prevalence rate was 1.8 %. Among 96 specimens of A. bicolor, none was infected. -

The chotts in Algeria are temporary salt lakes recognized as important wintering sites of water birds but neglected in terms of the diversity of the insects living on their banks. Around a chott in the wetland complex in the high plains near Constan- tine (eastern Algeria), more than half of the species of plants are annuals that dry out in summer, a situation that prompted us to sample the vegetation in spring over a period of two years. Three zones were identifi ed based on an analysis of the vegetation and measurements of the salt content of the soils. Surveys carried out at monthly intervals over the course of a year revealed temporal and spatial variations in biodiversity and abundance of grasshoppers. The inner zone is colonized by halophilic plants and only one grasshopper species (Dericorys millierei) occurs there throughout the year. -

Mirëpo në të gjitha rastet vërehet mungesa e një bashkëpunimi të frytshëm të gjuhëtarëve me specialistët faunistë, çka duket tek mungesa e specifikimit dhe shpjegimit të saktë të emrave, ose tek varfëria e emrave, për shkak të mos- njohjes së fondit të tyre. Nevojat për të zgjidhur në tërësi këto probleme dhe për ti dhënë lexuesve një fjalor sa më të plotë, kanë qenë motivet kryesore të punës për hatimin e tij dhe për të qënë më i vlefshëm, u hartua në tre gjuhë, latinisht – shqip – anglisht. Ky fjalor përmban emrat e 1140 llojeve të kafshëve të Shqipërisë.
