FRIDAY, MARCH 1, 2019 | THE HISTORIC DAVENPORT 2 Thank you for attending The Oaks 2019 Benefit Auction. We hope that you enjoy perusing this year’s catalog. We are looking forward to a beautiful and enjoyable evening supporting The Oaks! This year’s auction has a three-fold target to help deepen the influence of The Oaks in and beyond the Spokane community. This evening is a way for you to partner with the school to help enhance the work the school is doing daily. The aim of this year’s auction is to raise funds that will continue the work that God has started in the following ways: Growth: accommodating the growing student body in such a way that will support current and future facilities costs. Impact: enhancing education within the classrooms to better support faculty and staff as they equip students to shine the light of Christ’s truth in the community. Opportunity: providing assistance through scholarships that will continue to make The Oaks financially accessible for families. The Oaks depends on financial help from events like the auction to continue to provide an education that will help train children in truth. Your ticket price has covered all expenses for the evening, so every dollar raised tonight will go directly to The Oaks. We pray that God would be honored as we continue to pursue Him in all we do as a school. Thank you for your support and commitment. 3 TABLE OF CONTENTS Order of Events . 5 Dinner Menu . 5 Explanation of Games & Special Programs . 6 Gift Card Bingo Heads or Tails Cash Jackpot Mystery Wine Pull Dessert Auction Raise Your Paddle Auction Rules . 7—8 Special Thanks . .9—10 Auctioneer . 11 Silent Auction . 12—25 Dessert Auction . 26—27 Live Auction . 29—38 Gift Card Bingo Donors . 39 Donors . 40—42 4 ORDER OF EVENTS Doors Open at 5:00 PM Games and Cash Bar Available Gift Card Bingo Heads or Tails Mystery Wine Pull 6:00 PM Silent Auction Bidding Opens 6:50 PM—Green Silent Auction Closing 7:00 PM—Gold Silent Auction Closing 7:00 —9:00 PM Welcome and Prayer Dinner is Served Dessert Live Auction Heads & Tails Cash Jackpot Live Auction Closing Prayer DINNER MENU ~BIBB LETTUCE SALAD~ with blue cheese, tomatoes, and pancetta ~ENTREE CHOICES~ Served with potatoes and fresh seasonal vegetables PACIFIC CHINOOK KING SALMON with horseradish cream *GF ROASTED CHICKEN BREAST with tarragon jus *GF ROASTED PORK TENDERLOIN with pumpkin seed crust and mustard demi *GF LOCAL IPA BRAISED BONELESS BEEF SHORT RIBS OPEN-FACE PORTOBELLO AND SWEET POTATO VEGGIE BURER Kalamata-caramelized onion pomodoro sauce, grape tomato and caper relish, basil emulsion *vegetarian/vegan/gluten free ~DESSERT AUCTION TO FOLLOW~ 5 EXPLANATION OF GAMES & SPECIAL PROGRAMS GIFT CARD BINGO: Spin the Bingo cage and find out which mystery gift card you will win. Each spin costs $20 and you will receive a golden mystery envelope. Each enve- lope contains a gift card valued between $20 and $100. You may take your envelope with you as soon as you receive it. MYSTERY WINE PULL: Don’t miss out on the mystery wine pull! Buy a cork for $25 and get a bottle of wine ranging from $15 up to $125 in value. Unveil the mystery at the end of the night. Cheers! DESSERT AUCTION: The Live Auction will begin with our Dessert Auction. Several local bakers have generously donated desserts for the evening; however, there are not enough for every table. If you want to enjoy dessert at your table this even- ing, you will have to be the highest bidder! HEADS OR TAILS CASH JACKPOT: During the silent auction, secondary students will be selling green and gold beads for $10 a piece. Each set of beads gives you another opportunity to play. There is a maximum of 2 plays per person, but couples are welcome to buy 2 each, and you are welcome to buy beads for other guests. Then, just before the Dessert Auction, you will have the opportunity to participate in the Heads or Tails game. Here’s how you play—give your bidder number to the secondary students walking around with the gold and green beads. During the game, you will place your hands on your head or your tail. A coin will be flipped. If it is heads, all with their hands on their heads will remain standing, and vice ver- sa. This continues until the last one is standing. The prize will be a special Cash Jackpot of $250. Be sure to listen for details throughout the evening. The fun of playing is worth the $10 price, but the $250 cash prize certainly sweetens the deal! RAISE YOUR PADDLE: During the Live Auction, there will be an opportunity to help The Oaks raise money specifically for tuition assistance through scholarships that help make The Oaks financially accessible for families. Raise Your Paddle bid increments will be $1,000, $500, $250, $100, and $50. Thank you in advance for do- nating to our financial aid fund and deepening the impact that The Oaks can make in our community. 6 AUCTION RULES AUCTION CHECK-IN: All bidders must check-in at arrival. You will be given a bid packet that includes your bid number, which will be used for all bidding. One number will be issued per couple. If you plan to pay by credit card, your credit card will be swiped into our Greater Giving terminal. The purchases you make will be charged to this card following the event. Visa, MasterCard, Discover & American Express are accepted. Placing a bid constitutes a legal contract to buy any item upon which your number is the successful bid. The purchase of dinner tickets is non-tax-deductible. PURCHASING: Buyers who have submitted a credit card in advance may go directly to the pick-up table to claim their items. Payments being made by cash or check must go to check-out at the conclusion of the live auction. Payment in full is due by the close of the evening. All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds on items unless otherwise noted. Values on items are list prices as stated by donors. Reservations for trips, vacations, and tickets to performances must be mutually arranged with the donor. All items and services must be claimed and used by the expiration date noted by the donor or one year from the date of purchase. For services purchased, we ask that you contact the donor within two weeks after the auction to inform the donor of your name and possible time when the services will be used. The Auction Committee will not accept responsibility for items not used prior to the expiration date. The Auction Committee has attempted to describe and catalog all items correctly, but all property is sold as-is and the Auction Committee neither warrants nor represents, and shall in no 7 AUCTION RULES event be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, authenticity, authorship, provenance, or condition of the property. No statement contained in this catalog or made orally at the sale or elsewhere shall be deemed as a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability. SILENT AUCTION: All items are located on or near tables around the hall, with bid sheets nearby. Write your bid number next to the price you wish to pay. Your bid number must be legible. The winning bid will be the last bid on the sheet. Some items have a "Buy It Now" price at the bottom of the sheet. If you wish to ensure winning that item, place your bid number on this line. Then, simply flip the sheet over and the bidding on that item is closed. The silent auctions will close in sequential order. Closings will be announced by the auctioneer. All bidding is over at the announcement of closing; no more writing is allowed. LIVE AUCTION: Live auction bidding will begin following dinner and continues until all items have been auctioned. Items will be displayed for viewing throughout the evening. To bid, raise your bid number high so it can be easily seen. Once the auctioneer acknowledges it, lower it until you wish to bid again. Bidding order of Live Auction items is subject to change after publi- cation of the catalog. ITEM PICK UP: All items will need to be picked up at the conclusion of the live auction. If you have a credit card on file you are welcome to skip the check out line and head straight to the Item Pick-Up area. Secondary students will have your items ready for you. 8 SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR SPONSORS Bid Paddle Sponsor Damon Orthodontics Catalog Sponsors Configio & My Custom I.T. Norlift, Inc.
