Many committees include details of their future business on their webpages, which can be accessed at: http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/business/committees/index.htm Justice Committee 20 May 2014 16th Meeting, 2014 The Committee will meet at 9.15 am in the Sir Alexander Fleming Room (CR3) 1. Subordinate legislation: The Committee will consider the following negative instruments— Right to Interpretation and Translation in Criminal Proceedings (Scotland) Regulations 2014 (SSI 2014/95); Firemen’s Pension Scheme (Amendment No. 2) (Scotland) Order 2014 (SSI 2014/108); Firefighters’ Compensation Scheme (Scotland) Amendment Order 2014 (SSI 2014/109); Firefighters’ Pension Scheme (Scotland) Amendment (No. 2) Order 2014 (SSI 2014/110). 2. Subordinate legislation: The Committee will consider the following instrument which is not subject to any parliamentary procedure— Act of Sederunt (Fitness for Judicial Office Tribunal Rules) 2014 (SSI 2014/99). 3. Annual report: The Committee will consider a draft annual report for the Parliamentary year from 11 May 2013 to 10 May 2014. Proposed future business At its next meeting, on 3 June, the Committee expects to consider the Scottish Government’s response to the Review of Expenses and Funding of Civil Litigation in Scotland, public petitions and its work programme. Decision on taking business in private: The Committee will decide whether to take item 5 in private. 2. NHS boards budget scrutiny: The Committee will take evidence from— Carol Gillie, Director of Finance, NHS Borders; Alan Gray, Director of Finance, NHS Grampian; Paul James, Director of Finance, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde; Gerry O’Brien, Director of Finance, NHS Orkney. 3. Inquiry into teenage pregnancy: The Committee will take evidence from— Michael Matheson, Minister for Public Health, Felicity Sung, National Co- ordinator: Sexual Health and HIV, Gareth Brown, Head of Blood, Organ Donation and Sexual Health Team, and Colin Spivey, Learning Directorate Team Leader, Scottish Government. 4. Health Inequalities: Equally Well: The Committee will take evidence from— Michael Matheson, Minister for Public Health, Donald Henderson, Head of Public Health Division, and Aileen Keel, Acting Chief Medical Officer, Scottish Government. 5. Work programme: The Committee will consider its work programme. Education and Culture Committee 20 May 2014 14th Meeting, 2014 The Committee will meet at 10.00 am in the Robert Burns Room (CR1) 1. Decision on taking business in private: The Committee will decide whether to take item 4 in private. The Committee will also decide whether to consider its work programme, annual report and draft Stage 1 report on the Historic Environment Scotland Bill in private at future meetings. 2. Historic Environment Scotland Bill: The Committee will take evidence on the Bill at Stage 1 from— Fiona Hyslop, Cabinet Secretary for Culture and External Affairs, Noel Fojut, Bill Team Leader, David Fleetwood, Bill Team Manager, and Emma Thomson, Principal Legal Officer, Scottish Government. 3.
