Singapore 2018 Launch Location: The Padang, Civic District Time: 7.30am to 12.00pm Regardless of race, language, or abilities, we can all unite through sports to celebrate our nation’s birthday. The annual GetActive! Singapore returns to Car-Free Sunday SG for the third year running to have us all celebrating National Day together as One Team Singapore through sport! GetActive! Singapore 2018 promises more sports and action for the whole family, featuring the 5km Nila Walk/Run and sports initiatives from local communities and interest groups under the Active Enabler Programme. Singapore 2018 Workout 7.45am Choreographed to this year’s National Day theme song “We are Singapore”, this workout incorporates signature moves from the Active Health functional fitness moves. Whether it’s for school children, seniors or corporate warriors, everyone will get moving with it. Team Singapore Flag Presentation for Asian Games and 8.00am Asian Para Games The official flag presentation ceremony for Singapore’s 2018 Asian Games and Asian Para Games. Team Singapore will see its largest contingent to the 18th edition of the Asian Games, which will be held in Jakarta and Palembang in Indonesia from 18 August until 2 September. Annex A Expect to meet and greet Team Singapore athletes as Singapore cheer them for the upcoming Games. Nila Walk/Run 8.30am Take a walk around the closed roads in the Civic District. Starting from the front steps of National Gallery Singapore, take in the major sights such as Merlion Park, walk on closed streets like Shenton Way and explore the nooks and corners in nostalgic Telok Ayer Conservation Area before heading back to the Padang and Connaught Drive to enjoy the other activities. ActiveSG Sport and Fun Activities 8.00am to 11.45am On the Padang, Connaught Drive and Empress Lawn, take your pick of the sports activities brought to you by ActiveSG. Fun activities include spinning, cheerleading, mini-tennis, aeromodelling, taiji, kinball, kampong games, fitness party and more. Move Happy Cycling Festival Location: Connaught Drive, opposite Singapore Cricket Club Time: 8.00am to 12.00pm Organised in conjunction with Car-Free Sunday SG and GetActive! Singapore, the Move Happy Cycling Festival celebrates the joys of cycling for transport. The festival brings fun and exciting activities to the Civic District such as the Move Happy-CFS 5km Challenge, Move Happy Cycling Carnival, Move Happy-Strider Kids Race, and Brompton Fastest Fold Competition. Key Programme Highlights Timing Move Happy-CFS 5km Challenge 8.30am to 12.00pm Cycle around scenic roads free of cars, and take part in a challenge to redeem an exclusive ride pack! Move Happy Cycling Carnival 8.00am to 12.00pm Annex A Participate in fun cycling-themed games and redeem a goody bag when you complete a game passport. You will also get a chance at the Move Happy Fortune Gachapon for a tidbit of cyclist wisdom! Cycling Tryouts 8.00am to 11.30am Put your bicycle handling skills to the test through several mini circuits. Move Happy-Strider Kids Race 9.00am to 11.30am Organised in partnership with Move Happy, watch the tiniest of competitors, aged 2 to 5 years old, pit budding cycling skills against peers on balance bicycles! Brompton Fastest Fold Competition 9.00am to 12.00pm Can you fold a Brompton bike in the shortest time? Challenge the leaderboard and stand to win a Mini O Bag! Brompton UK team members will also be at the booth to meet and greet with fans. Love Cycling SG’s “Lelong, Lelong & Picnic” 8.30am to 12.00pm Too many unused bicycle parts lying at home? Bring along the parts you would like to give away or exchange. While you are there, join in a picnic and chat with fellow cyclists. Annex A ACTIVE MOBILITY ACTIVITIES Bike Rental Location: Fullerton Road, in front of Victoria Theatre Time: 8.00am to 11.30am Don’t want the hassle of bringing your bikes to Car-Free Sunday SG? Standard bikes, children’s bikes and novelty bikes are available for rental from our bike rental partners Wheelers and Spring Gear. Personal Mobility Roadshow Location: St Andrew’s Road Time: 8.00am to 11.30am Join us at the Personal Mobility Roadshow where several vendors will be showcasing and selling personal mobility devices and bicycles to help you move towards a more car-lite lifestyle. Participating Vendors: All About Wheels Brompton Eco Rider Mighty Velo Pte Ltd Piston Rodalink (Bike Repair) All About Wheels Location: St Andrew’s Road Time: 8.00am to 11.30am Ever wondered if it’s possible to cycle on double-layered bicycles or a single-wheel bike? Wait no more, you can try out all the different eccentric bicycles created by All About Wheels this coming Car-Free Sunday SG! Annex A SPORTS & FITNESS ACTIVITIES CIVIC DISTRICT SCC International Soccer Sevens Tournament 2018 Location: The Padang Time: 7.30am to 5.00pm The SCC International Soccer Sevens Tournament 2018 is the premier football tournament in Southeast Asia, taking place from 28 to 29 July – coinciding with Car- Free Sunday SG (29 July). Featuring more than 50 professional and amateur teams from around the region in five categories - Masters, Open, Legends, Youth, and Women’s – the tournament is expected to draw huge crowds to the iconic Padang field right in the heart of Singapore. Kids’ activities, F&B stalls and games will add to the carnival atmosphere at the tournament, offering loads of fun for fans and families. In addition, join us for a Sunrise Yoga session from 7.30am to 8.30am on the Padang Field; this session is free to the public and more information is available at https://bit.ly/2L11ev7. “Like” and “follow” us at @SccSoccer7s for updates, news and live streaming of tournament matches. Share the Road Cycling Carnival Location: Cecil Street / McCallum Street (gathering point) Time: 6.00am to 7.30am The Share the Road Criterium Series is an initiative spearheaded by the Singapore Cycling Federation and Cycosports. Criterium races are held on closed circuits around Robinson Road and Cecil Street. Annex A The event aims to showcase the competitive cycling community and to provide an open environment to learn more about competitive cycling, as well as a greater understanding of cycling and safety on the roads. Outdoor Yoga with YOGA SEEDS Location: Esplanade Park Time: 7.30am to 8.30am Kickstart your day with a morning Hatha Yoga session at Esplanade Park.
