Charlie Dixon Games: 8 Goals: 6

Its been a massive month for big Dicko who has been in and out of the senior side and added two games to his tally. One game back in the reserves saw him boot 11 goals against Southport and saw him straight back into the senior the following week. Dicko has now drawn level with the big pencil in senior games and is sure to add a few more before the end of what has been a great first season.

Jake Spencer Games: 8 Goals: 0

Still on the long road back from his season ending ACL injury, the 203cm giant will be keen to help out and Stefan Martin in 2012 with the young and talented Melbourne midfield.

Josh Thomas Games: 0 Goals: 0

Good news for JT with his first game back in the VFL last weekend after a troublesome foot injury. He got through unscathed and will continue to gain fitness with the Collingwood reserves in the hopes he may get a senior debut later in the season.

Journeyman Jamie Hackett to reach senior milestone On the eve of his 50th senior game with the club, Jamie Hackett reflects on the unusual and long journey that has got him to where he is now. By Jamie Hackett I have played footy at the club since AUSKICK when I was about five. Growing up from U14’s to U18’s I was involved in the Bushrangers programs which was a great stepping stone to be ready for senior football. In one of my games playing against the Gold Coast there was close to six players drafted from that game alone which shows how well that program is working. I played my first senior game for the club as a 15 year old down at Labrador where I still remember trying to players three times my size. After graduating from high school and having a good “Bushies” carnival I was contacted by a person associated with the Shepparton Swans who offered me a good job and a better chance to be spot- Hackett in action with the Bombers ted. That year I was looked at by a St.Kilda scout who introduced him- self and also told me that he was looking at another bloke playing at the time in Shepparton, Michael Barlow. After two seasons with the Swans and finishing runner up and fourth in their B&F’s, a mate and I were contacted by a team in Darwin called St.Marys. That was a great experience which led to a senior premiership with many great friends made. I had a great season fin- ishing runner up in the best and fairest playing alongside the likes of the Illet’s, Lohders and Vellejo’s who now play for the Northern Terri- tory Thunder. This season opened up a great opportunity when Adrian Hickmott rang me about playing football for the Bendigo Bombers in the VFL. I was lucky enough to be one of the few players including now listed Stuart Crameri who were able to train with the Essendon players on Fridays at Windy Hill. A Premiership with St Marys This was a great but also very strange time for me. There was no hav- ing a quiet couple of beers after the game, it became a strictly foot- ballers life. We trained every night and I was placed in a tiny town called Maryborough which is located between Bendigo and Ballarat. During the season I played three senior games and won the B&F and leading goalkicker for the reserves. Since my stint in the VFL I went back up to Darwin and played a few more games with St.Marys before learning I had been accepted into university in QLD. Since then I have been welcomed back to Red- lands where I really enjoy the personalities around the place. Even though I am only 21, I have had a massive life learning experience and look forward to success with the Bombers now and in the future.

The club congratulates “Hacks” on his milestone which should come Hackett with the Shepparton Swans against Tuggeranong in Canberra and hope’s it is the first of many for the Redland junior product!

Club Stalwart Jesse Dixon Moves On One of Redlands favorite sons Jesse Dixon has decided to move on after a job opportunity too good to pass in his home town of Cairns. Dixon, just 22, moved up to Redlands as an 18 year old in 2007 and has been a loyal club servant since. His brother Charlie, now play- ing for the , joined him at Redlands in 2008 before he was drafted giving the two an opportunity to play senior football together. Dixon represented Redland in 76 club games including 46 senior appearances. A versatile player who could go Jesse Dixon is chaired from the ground in his last match for Redland forward or back, Dixon played senior football in every season since joining the club underlining his endeavor and consistency. The club wished “Dicko” all the best in his future endeavors on and off the field and hopes to see him again in the not too distant future! The Redland Hall of Fame Update Construction Begins on Hall of Fame The first stages of the Redland Hall of Fame are now well and truly underway, with honour boards, trophy cabinets, walls, pictures and TV screens taking their place in the Sharks Sporting Club. The next phase’s will include premiership flags, premiership boards and a mural along the feature wall. After seven consecutive weeks of away matches, the Redland Football Club sincerely thank the Red- land Council for there efforts on the top oval. After an initial spray for weeds, the oval was then left completely bare in the middle of the season. 210 tonnes of top soil was spread across the oval and 1.7 tonnes of Rye grass seed was then layed. Amazingly, within 6 weeks the oval was ready to go and the Bombers only lost one home game in the process. Once again, thank you to councillor Johns Burns and Laurence Blacka for their tremendous support.

Hello readers... There seems to be an epidemic spreading through the young stars of the club at the mo- ment. Parents - it is in your best interests to check your family tree and calculate the risk levels of your own juniors coming through the ranks. Or at very least, consult your hair- dresser.

Problem? Receeding hairline.

Rowan Page 18, Josh Avison18, Justin Myers 20, Brad Howard 22. Very young adults who have lost their hair very early. All four attempt to hide their condition by growing their hair long and combing it over the "col-de-sac's" on their forehead, creating the illusion there's some fertile soil there somewhere. Your fooling no one boys. But it's not your fault. The one constant through all the coaching turmoil in the last few weeks? Al Jenkins. Bald as a badger. How do the boys stand a chance with role models like that? Has Al not seen the add for Advanced Hair Studio? Couldn't he set a better example??

Boys, the club is behind you. It's not your fault. Your just very unlucky. As soon as you start growing hair elsewhere, you start losing the only hair that's visible. Unlucky. Natural selection is a cruel mistress.

The World's Greatest Shave is now not only dedicated to cancer research which is massively important, but it is also dedicated to making Pagey, Avo, Howie and Juzzy feel that little more accepted around the club. We love you boys.
