Kroenke's Going to Crush Kroenke’s Going to Crush it… Sean Spear | Hughes Marino Blog After two long decades, the city of Los Angeles is finally getting its football team back. The Rams are returning to the city of Angels. Rams owner, Stan Kroenke, has partnered with Stockbridge Capital, the owners of the Hollywood Park Land Company, to build a new state-of-the- art NFL stadium and facilities on the existing Hollywood Park development in Inglewood. After collecting more than 20,000 petition signatures to allow for the rezoning of the proposed stadium site, the Inglewood City Council approved the stadium with Rendering of Inglewood Stadium by HKS Architects. a unanimous 5-0 vote, removing any remaining legal obstacles for the stadium project and clearing the way 2,500 homes, a 300-room hotel and 25 2021 Super Bowl, as well as many other for developers to break ground. acres of new park space. Areas like Culver City have become increasingly more expensive, and companies have begun to consider more affordable alternatives. For further contact details, continue to the end of this article. After over twenty years away, the NFL is returning to the City of Angels in the form of the Rams, who are returning next season after leaving for St. Louis in 1995. Many people have tried to bring professional football back to Los Angeles. The problem always was the lack of an adequate stadium. Stan Kroenke has finally gotten over that stumbling block with his Inglewood stadium, currently known as City of Champions Stadium, with completion scheduled for 2019. The new stadium that the Rams left Los Angeles for is finally being built for the Rams with ground being officially broken the day after the NFL voted to allow the Rams to return to Los Angeles. City of Champions Stadium construction, is being planned to be the flagship stadium for the NFL. Presently plans are for the stadium to have a low profile and the field nearly 100 feet below street level under a clear glass roof that will allow natural light and breezes into the stadium and part of a larger complex that will include a complex known as NFL City. NFL City will have studio space, a multi-use auditorium and other features enabling the site to handle NFL Network productions as well as hosting the NFL Draft and Combine, making Los Angeles the center of the NFL world.

Sports Business Journal November 2, 2020 Karn Dhingra High Rollers: Allegiant Stadium makes a bold statement for the Raiders Throughout the Raiders’ 60-year history, the franchise never had its own home. Whether at Oakland Coliseum or Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the Raiders were always tenants. Allegiant Stadium is the Raiders’ first home they can truly call their own, and it was created in the team’s new Las Vegas image, appearing as a gleaming black and silver alien spacecraft on the south end of the Vegas Strip. The story of the Raiders’ $1.98 billion, 65,000-seat home started when the Chargers threw their lot in with the Rams’ move to Los Angeles and NFL owners approved Stan Kroenke’s SoFi Stadium and its mixed-used development in Inglewood, Calif. “In 2014-2015, we were invited to participate in a design competition for a new NFL stadium in Los Angeles in Carson, Calif., which was hosted by the San Diego Chargers,” said Manica architect Keith Robinson, who led the design team for Allegiant Stadium. “As part of their design critique [the Chargers] said we needed to develop a building that could accommodate two teams; it wasn’t clear if that was another NFL franchise or a college team.” Shortly afterward, Manica was informed it had won the competition and was asked to render out the proposed stadium and change the seat colors to black and silver. “And meet us in Alameda because the Raiders and the Chargers are going to pursue their relocation to Los Angeles jointly,” Robinson added.

2016 Kroenke Plans on Moving Team to City of Angels Rams more than likely to bid adieu to St. Louis after 21 seasons As the 2015-16 NFL season came to a close, the St. Louis Rams were once again short of a playoff spot and finished the season 7-9. To add salt to the wound, the constant threat from Rams owner Stan Kroenke to move his team to Los Angeles is nearly inevitable. St. Louis has yet to have seen an over .500 record since the 2003 campaign and hasn’t won or been to the Super Bowl in more than 10 years. From the regretful draft picks to constant coaching staff changes to a push for a new stadium in St. Louis, there are many reasons for the fan base to lose interest. “I still care about them, they’re still a home team,” junior Jaylin Williams said. “I grew up watching them.” “I’d be upset knowing they left, but I’d still support them because I like the players they’ve added like Tavon Austin, Janoris Jenkins and running back sensation Todd Gurley,” junior Jordan Gladney said enthusiastically. It seems like Los Angeles is thirsty for another team after recently getting another Major League Soccer team, LAFC. LA is fighting for one of three NFL teams: the San Diego Chargers, the Oakland Raiders or the St. Louis Rams. For any of these clubs to relocate, 24 of the 32 franchise owners must approve. Although the owners of the three franchises looking to relocate are unsatisfied with the stadiums their teams play in, league commissioner Roger Goodell says there’s no possible way for an update on their arenas.

St. Louis takes aim at NFL, Rams over team move By Yvette Shields Published April 13 2017, 11:02am EDT More in Court cases Missouri Print Email Reprints Share CHICAGO — St. Louis, St. Louis County and the public agency that owns the Edward Jones Dome is seeking compensation from the National Football League over the city’s loss of the Rams franchise last year. A lawsuit filed Wednesday in St. Louis Circuit Court by the city, county, and Regional Convention and Sports Complex Authority accuses the NFL and it member teams and their owners of improperly approving the team’s move to Los Angles sought by Rams owner Stan Kroenke. The league violated its own obligations and standards that govern team relocations by approving the move, breaching their contract with the city, the lawsuit alleges. “In so doing, defendants have breached their contractual duties owed to plaintiffs,” the complaint reads. “Defendants also have made intentionally false representations to plaintiffs, have interfered with the valid business expectancies of plaintiffs, and have unjustly enriched themselves.” The lawsuit charges that Kroenke had long worked behind the scenes with the goal of moving the team and he never intended to “engage in good faith negotiations” with local authorities first over renovations to the dome and later on a new stadium financing. St. Louis and other public bodies are suing the NFL and the Rams over the team's move from the Edward Jones Dome and rejection of a new stadium proposal in favor of a move to Southern California.
