COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN: Abdulaziz Al Saad, Saudi Aramco Abdallah Ibrahim Abouelelam, Schlumberger Abdulaziz Al-Saad is a geophysicist working in the Geophysical Imaging Department for Saudi Aramco Abdallah Ibrahim Abouelelam graduated in 2005 from Cairo university with a BSc in . He worked for Exploration Admin Area, with a focus on near-surface geophysical modeling. Abdulaziz Al-Saad received his 1 year at Cairo university as a geophysics instructor and researcher. He then joined Schlumberger in 2006 in BSc degree in Geophysics from University of New Orleans, Louisiana (USA). His research interests are on the land seismic acquisition, and then joined the seismic data processing in Cairo in 2011, working mainly on land near-surface modeling and borehole geophysics. seismic data processing. He then went to Houston in 2012 to study for the 1-year Area Geophysicists university program. He worked in Lagos, Nigeria as an area geophysicist, giving technical support and hands on work on land and marine and 4D seismic imaging. He is currently based in Cairo as the Middle East and North Africa geophysics lead, looking after the challenges in the area and working on the critical projects and opportunities.

COMMITTEE CO-CHAIRMAN: Moosa Al-Jahdhami, Petroleum Development Oman Ahmed Nasr, ION Moosa Al-Jahdhami is a seismic processing geophysicist at Petroleum Development Oman since 2009, holding Ahmed Nasr received a BSc degree in Geophysics from faculty of science Ain Shams University. He then BSc and MSc degrees on Geophysical Sciences from Leeds University (UK). Moosa worked in Shell Netherlands worked in Petroleum Geo-services PGS ME in Egypt for 5 years and was involved with the marine seismic from 2014 to 2017 as part of his international assignment. During his career in Petroleum Development Oman data processing group in Offshore Egypt & North Africa. In 2009-2010, he worked for seismic acquisition/ and Shell, he worked on signal processing and depth imaging of land seismic data, and was involved in research processing companies Fugro FSI & Polarcus/ION as shift leader onboard processing geophysicist in North Sea, and experimental projects. Moosa is experienced in WAZ processing, seismic imaging, multiple attenuation Asia & West Africa. Since 2011, he has been working for ION Egypt as Processing Center Manager, overseeing and full waveform inversion. all in-house onshore and offshore projects in different parts of the world.

Ali Shehab, Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) Ali Shehab is an currently working with Tatweer Petroleum’s exploration group, focusing on adding more reserves to the Kingdom of Bahrain. Ali holds a BSc degree in Geological Sciences specializing in Geophysics and Seismology from the University of Texas at Austin (USA). He joined the national oil company in 2014, and worked on various diverse exploration projects ranging from geophysical data acquisition, processing and interpretation. Ali is an active SEG member since 2011. STAYING IN TOUCH WITH YOU MEANS THE Bashir Durrani, ARGAS Bashir Durrani received his MSc in Geology with specialization in Geophysics in 1983 (Pakistan), an MSc in Physics in 1989 (USA) and a PhD in Geophysics in 1993 (USA), concentrating on earthquake seismology and crustal studies using seismic and non-seismic techniques. Bashir has over 27 years of experience in the seismic industry and academia. His areas of interest include seismic data acquisition and processing, reservoir characterization, permanent reservoir monitoring, non-seismic techniques such as Gravity, Magnetic and Electrical Resistivity methods. Bashir is currently based in Saudi Arabia working for Arabian Geophysical and Surveying Company (ARGAS) as VP of Business Development.

David Le Meur, CGG David Le Meur is Senior Research Advisor at CGG. He received a PhD in geophysics in 1997 from Paris XI WORLD University (France) and has 21 years of experience in Seismic Processing at CGG. Since 2001, as a researcher, TO US he has been posted in various locations such as Paris (France), Calgary (Canada) and Muscat (Oman). Mohammed Al Otaibi, Saudi Aramco Abdullatif Al Shuhail, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) Mohammed Al-Otaibi has been with Saudi Aramco for more than 25 years and is currently the Chief Geophysicist Abdullatif Al-Shuhail is an Associate Professor of Geophysics at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals for the Geophysical Data Processing Division. His job is to assure delivering timely quality processed volumes (KFUPM). He got his BSc from KFUPM in Geophysics in 1988, his MSc and PhD in Geophysics from Texas A&M to support exploration and development programs within the company. He has a PhD in Geophysics from the University at College Station in 1993 and 1998 respectively. Since then, he has been teaching and advising at University of Houston (USA) in 2002 and his technical interests are AVO and seismic imaging. KFUPM. He founded and directed the Near Surface Seismic Investigation Consortium at KFUPM in 2006-2008. He authored and co-authored several papers in the field of petroleum seismic exploration. He is a co-author of the book Processing of Seismic Reflection Data Using MATLAB published by Morgan & Claypool Publishers in 2011. He is an active member of the SEG, the EAGE, and the Dhahran Geoscience Society. His interests include near-surface effects on petroleum seismic data, seismic investigation of fractured reservoirs, and ground penetrating radar.

Gang Yu, BGP Gang Yu is Senior Technical Advisor to the President of BGP. He holds a BSc (Exploration Geophysics) and a MSc (Geophysical Instrumentation) from Chengdu University of Technology (China), and a PhD (Applied Geophysics) from Macquarie University (Australia). His research interests include marine MT and CSEM, land MT and TFEM, borehole-to-surface TFEM, integrated shale gas reservoir characterization, microseismic monitoring of hydraulic fracturing operation, distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) VSP survey and 3D VSP imaging. He is an active member of the SEG, the EAGE and the Society of Petrophysicists and Log Analysts (SPWLA).

John Brittan, ION John Brittan received a BSc in Physics from the University of Birmingham (UK) in 1992 and a PhD in Geophysics from Imperial College, London (UK) in 1995. He worked for PGS from 1997 until 2012, undertaking a number of management roles including Head of Processing Technology and Chief Geophysicist for Data Processing and Technology. In 2013, he joined ION where he is currently Vice President, Strategic Technology Development for the E&P Technology and Services Division. He is an active member of the EAGE and SEG and is an Associate Editor of Geophysical Prospecting.

SM Raffaela Sebatien, CGG SEG MIDDLE EAST - UPCOMING EVENTS 2019 Raffaela Sebatien’s current position is Geophysical Manager for CGG Geoscience – Multi-Physics Imaging, based in Dubai. She studied geophysics in Hamburg (Germany), and has been working in the Middle East since Event Date Location Activity Status 2003. Her scientific interest is the integration of multi-physics data with seismic data.
