Published under authority by Government Advertising SPECIAL SUPPLEMENT NSW DEPARTMENT OF PRIMARY INDUSTRIES PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS (GENERAL) REGULATION 2006 NOTICE is given in accordance with section 5 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1989, of the intention to make a regulation under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1979. The proposed Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (General) Regulation 2006 is to replace both the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (General) Regulation 1996 and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Animal Trades) Regulation 1996, which will be automatically repealed on 1 September 2006. The objectives of the proposed Regulation under the Act are to prevent cruelty to animals, and to promote their welfare by requiring a person in charge of an animal to provide care and to treat it in a humane manner. The proposed new Regulation will carry over a number of provisions from the two Regulations it replaces, including such matters as provisions for the animal trades, penalty notices, certain restricted devices, assistance for inspectors and prescribed traps. Submissions close at 5:00 p.m., Monday, 31 July, 2006. 4760 SPECIAL SUPPLEMENT 23 June 2006 COAL MINE HEALTH AND SAFETY ACT 2002 NOTICE is given in accordance with section 5 of Subordinate Legislation Act 1989, of the intention to make a regulation under the Coal Mine Health and Safety Act 2002 (CMHS Act). When commenced the CMHS Act will repeal and replace the Coal Mines Regulation Act 1982. The proposed regulation is the Coal Mine Health and Safety Regulation 2006. The principal object of the regulation is to enable the commencement of the CMHS Act through the speci cation of matters required by or in support of that Act.
