Ms Fatima Usman, Assistant Librarian CIIT Lahore also participated the lecture as Assistant Trainer. The lecture was held on May 17, 2017 in the seminar hall of DoIM, Punjab University. The students belong to final year semester (Morning/Evening) was the participant of this guest lecture. As archetypal, and due to video clips, activities, ice breakers and interactive discussion, students took great interest in the lecture. On her concluding remarks Ms. Nosheen Fatima Warriach, appraised the presentation style, components of the topic and activities being done during the lecture. As thanking note, Ms. Nosheen Warriach presented bouquet to Dr. Muhammad Tariq, Incharge Library Information Services, CIIT Lahore and also thanked Ms Fatima Usman for her active role in the lecture. Page 3 of 33 A Delegation from National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC) visites CIIT-Lahore library The delegation of National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC) visited CIIT-Lahore library along with Dr. Qaisar Abbas (Director CIIT-Lahore) , Dr. Amir Rashid (HOD MS) and senior faculty members on May 15, 2017. Dr. Muhammad Tariq (Library In charge) welcome the delegation and briefed them about library resources and services being provided to library users. The delegation also visited different sections of the library and admired the services, resources, infrastructure that are being provided to the users. Page 4 of 33 Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) visites library A team of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) visited Library Information Services, CIIT Lahore on May 05, 2017 along with Senior Faculty members of EE department, for the accreditation of Electronics degree. Muhammad Ishtiaq Deputy Librarian & Ms. Nasira Munir welcomed and briefed them about library resources and services. Team also visited different sections of the library and admired the services and infrastructure that are being provided to the users. School Textbooks Exchange Program Library Information Services CIIT-Lahore has started a new program entitled "School Textbooks Exchange Program". The program is purely voluntarily and intends to promote principals of humanity and sadqa jaria besides safeguarding the books against destruction and facilitating CIIT community. All employees of this campus who intend to donate, receive or exchange school books of their children at any level/grade may participate in the program by filling the form in the following link. https://docs.google.com/…/1FAIpQLScpZ8JphVqBZTTBN…/viewform… Please note that this program has been started with the intention of helping our people and does not involve any cost etc. Page 5 of 33 Birthday celebrations of MS. University libraries all over the world still acquire and maintain massive book collections while managing other formats. Despite prophecies of vanishing print collections and emergence of the digital paradigm, printed books still have a central role in library collections and publishing industry (Kanwal 2005; Carr 2007) Until 2005, collections in Pakistan's university libraries (UL) mainly consisted of books (foreign), when the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan provided access to thousands of digital databases (Government of Pakistan. Higher Education Commission). A doctoral study found that in Pakistan, university libraries annual collection funds are mostly spent on new books and serial publications (Ameen 2005a). These funds have increased each year under the present regime; however, the book market has never been capable of efficiently supplying the imported current and research material for libraries.

Hamid Rahman’s Contribution to LIS Literature Abid Hussain* Abstract This quantitative study presents the bio bibliometrics analysis of Prof. Hamid Rahman, and the literature produced by him from 1983 till the end of 2020. The basic aim of the study was to investigate the life and contribution to the field of the Library and Information Science in Urdu, English and Hindko, language, professor devoted in his professional career. Prof. Hamid Rahman wrote award winging papers, and won IVP (International Visitor Program) scholarship. He was remained an external/internal supervisor for undergraduate and postgraduate Library Science programs in many leading Universities of the country. He organized six library science conferences at Bara Gali Sub-Campus of University of Peshawar.     MEDIA Monitoring Report 2017 Media Monitor ng Disclamer SAMAR in collaboration with OSF has undertaken this Media Monitoring as a project with very limited human resources. Monitors watched assigned television channels and filled questionnaires separately designed for each assignment by SAMAR. There is, however, a possibility of human error affecting the overall accuracy of the data.     CoronaCrimeWatch Pakistan-23 Weekly Review of Organised Crime and Pandemic Compiled by National Initiative against Organised Crime (NIOC) 07 September to 13 September 2020 The COVID-19 pandemic is not only affecting the economies and societies across the world but also changing the trends of the organized crime and illicit markets. Pakistan is already facing critical economic challenges as well as issues related to governance and internal security. While the coronavirus pandemic has complicated these challenges, it can also bring to fore new challenges related to organized crime and non-state actors in the country. There is a need for institutional vigilance to monitor the changing trends for better understanding and preparedness to cope with future challenges. The National Initiative against Organized Crime (NIOC) is initiating a weekly monitor on Organized Crime as a civil society initiative to support the institutional and community responses. The weekly brief is a result of information collected from open sources, mainly the mainstream media reports, both Urdu and English as well as information collected from various experts associated with the Project. Nationwide confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan were 301,685 as of September 14, 2020, while 289,429 of them have recovered so far in the country. The death toll reached 6,381.
