The NUvention program is a unique set of cross-campus, interdisciplinary courses offered at Northwestern University. The variety of courses continues to grow.

The Farley Center for Entrepreneurship at the McCormick School of Engineering manages the following NUvention Courses: • NUvention Web • NUvention Energy • NUvention Nano (New this fall.) • NUvention Analytics (Coming this spring.)

KIEI: Year One Successes

• 26 Kellogg alumni and student startups worked at 1871 during summer 2013 • 10 new full-time courses were added • 11 total adjunct faculty added in 2012-13 and 2013-14 • 3 new challenges proffering prizes were created: – Sterling Partners Investment Thesis Challenge (SPITC) – Kellogg Venture Capital Investment Challenge (Kellogg VCIC) – U.S. Cellular Corporate Innovation Challenge • 2 summer opportunities were created: – LaunchU summer fellowship $45,000 for two startup teams from New World Ventures – Sponsorship at 1871 for 7 entrepreneurship students • Kellogg Entrepreneurial Internship Program updated and expanded • Kellogg NUvention team SiNode Systems won the Rice University Business Plan competition and the U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Energy Business Plan Competition, winning nearly $1M • Kellogg team took the top spot at the International Impact Investment Challenge (I3C) at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. • Kellogg team took home the regional title during the national VCIC
