QuickSpecs HPE Edgeline EL300 Converged Edge System Overview HPE Edgeline EL300 Converged Edge System The HPE Edgeline EL300 Converged Edge System provides an effective way to connect and manage all your Operational Technology (OT) Systems such as control systems, data acquisition systems and industrial networks with your existing Information Technology (IT) infrastructure. The HPE Edgeline EL300 is a highly flexible, expandable and customizable platform that can grow as your needs evolve over time. Its modular design allows the device to incorporate expansion modules for a multitude of connectivity options. The HPE Edgeline EL300 device o support remote management over both wireless and wired networks. The HPE Edgeline EL300 has a compact, ruggedized, fanless design that will withstand harsh environmental conditions with a wide operational temperature range of -30°C to 70°C and is ideal for embedded customer use cases. OTLink Dramatically Simplifies Deployment and Management of Operational Technologies (OT). OTLink will be supported in the EL300 Converged Edge System as it dramatically simplifies deployment and management of operational technology. It will allow customers to deploy multiple converged OT + IT infrastructure with one touch provisioning quickly and efficiently. OTLink will orchestrate applications on edge optimized infrastructure in just a few clicks. It will enable and manage OTLink based application effortlessly as needed. It is a protected platform with integrated security and enterprise class reliability. Increase Uptime with Edge Optimized System Management using HPE Edgeline Integrated System Manager HPE Integrated System Management (iSM) allows increased uptime and system administrator efficiency in a new edge focused management software tool. Customers will now be able to remotely monitor system health, event logs, and thermal characteristics as well as support firmware and flash updates. HPE Edgeline iSM remote management tool on the EL300 can be utilized over multiple types of networks, including wired Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and cellular, with constant and intermittent connectivity. Remote management over wireless (LTE, etc.) allows the HPE Edgeline EL300 to be deployed nearly anywhere. The Edgeline EL300 with iSM is Redfish® compliant that supports SSH CLI and Web GUI interfaces for greater ease of use. Ruggedized designed for deployment in multiple environmental conditions The Edgeline EL300 is designed to reside in environmentally harsh, space constrained, and/or dusty environments. It has undergone substantial and rigorous testing to withstand increased shock & vibrations to facilitate reliability and dependability which eliminates downtime and TCO. The Edgeline EL300 can be deployed in wide array of environmental conditions including extreme temperatures. The EL300 can tolerate a low operating temperature of -30C (-22 F) to a high operating temperature of up to 70°C (158°F). It is also a Fan-less IP50 design that minimizes dust and debris intrusion in dirty environments such as factories or trucks. While in remote and isolated locations, the EL300 can be remotely managed using global wireless LTE module that supports common carrier frequencies worldwide and is certified in numerous countries. The HPE Edgeline EL300 has dual SIM slots to allow easy switching between telecom operators. A combination WiFi+BT wireless option is also available as a add on option. A management Wi-FI capability is standard in every EL300 platform. These are baseline interfaces that are supported in all version of EL300. • Dual 1GbE LAN ports (RJ45) with TSN support • Single LAN port (RJ45) for Manageability • TPM (Trusted platform Module) v2.0 (or) TCM • Display: 1 X standard Display port & 1 X standard HDMI port • USB (type A): 2 X USB 3.0/2.0 ports & 2 X USB 2.0 ports • Audio connection 3x 3.5mm: Mic, Line In, Line out • Serial 1x RS232 port • SD Card slot The EL300 also has two reset buttons that are customer accessible. • iSM Reset: This reset pin will reboot the management processor • CPU Reset: This reset pin will reboot the host Intel processor In addition there is a Power on/off button that will power down or boot up the system. The Intel Wi-Fi is default Storage options There are 3 storage option in the EL300 as follows: • M.2 2242 / 2280 SATA SSD located under the top heat sink. Installed only at initial factory order and is not customer accessible. First instance of M.2 SATA drive ordered will be installed in this location. • M.2 2242 / 2280 SATA SSD located inside customer access panel. Second instance of M.2 SATA drive ordered will be installed in this location. • M.2 2280 / 22110 PCIe NVMe SSD located inside customer access panel Page 4 QuickSpecs HPE Edgeline EL300 Converged Edge System Standard Features = Daughter Card options The EL300 can accept one (1) daughter card to expand the number of interface that is required by the application. A daughter card is not required and is only an option. There are four daughter cards available for use in the EL300 1. Four (4) port 1GbE Ethernet with TSN 2. Two (2) CAN Bus A/B/FD 2.0 optically isolated 3. Two (2) port RS232/422/485 optically isolated 4. One (1) 8 bits configurable DIO Power Board options The EL300 comes with 1 of 2 standard power board options. The first option is the 9v to 36V DC input option. This is a 3 pin phoenix connector on the front face plate of the EL300. This can support up to 190W with proper power supply The second power board option is the 12V DC power transfer board with a round pin lockable connector. This board accepts 12V DC input with limited power conditioning for up to 100W Remote Management iSM is a remote management tool that is embedded on the system boards of the EL300 Converged Edge System. This allows controlling and monitoring of the HPE EL300 from a remote location. HPE iSM management is a powerful tool that provides multiple ways to configure, update, monitor, and run servers remotely. The iSM tool has its own network connection and IP address to which administrators can connect via Domain Name System (DNS)/Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) or through a separate dedicated management network. iSM provides a remote Web-based console, which can be used to administer the Edgeline systems remotely. In some Edgeline systems the iSM port is an Ethernet connection and/or a wireless connection (Wi-Fi & 3G / 4G / LTE). iSM Standard is a license free tool that is available for all EL300 customers. It includes basic configuration, management and reporting capabilities. iSM Advanced is a paid for license tool that adds additional capability that simplifies some task and provides advance features that make day to day management easier and more efficient. The embedded Integrated System Controller (iSC) is the physical processor management module that runs the iSM software tool. An iSC module is embedded in every EL300 system. Edgeline Infrastructure Manager (EIM) Standard is a license free tool that is available to customers to manage multiple EL300 converged Edge Systems by utilizing a single software tool.
