We would like to take this opportunity to remember Mark McCrack en, a very capable young man who was taken from our midst by cancer. To many he was a friend and to others only a face to be remembered. He should certainly be an inspiration to all of us with his will and de termination to go on even in the face of unsurmountable odds. To those who knew him we can certainly strive and do and achieve our goals in light of his fantastic determination to live.

And myself have awaked, as it seems, to the better mind; It is better to fight for the good, than to rail at the ill; I have felt with my native land, I am one with my kind, I embrace the purpose of God, and the doom assign'd.

With an impressive 27-5 record in the 197 -79 season the Lady Hounds went all the way to State again only to be up et by rival Laural County in the semi-finals. Paris Iligh School is still proud of a job well done. We are sure the underclass players will carry on the winning tradition.

Girls track team members this year were young, but fast. The girls participated in four away meets and fin ished second or third in all of them. At their regional track meet, almost all of the girls advanced to the finals not a small accomplishment. Senior Tanya Crumbie was chosen at the regional meet to participate in the state meet. She made her team members and her school proud of her with her ex cellent running in the 440-yard dash. Eleven seventh and eighth grade girls ran this year with the seven high school girls. Since they will lose only one senior, the Paris High School girl's track team has a bright future.

Paris High's gymnastic team was small this year, but talented Juniors Cydney Parker and Orville utter were chosen at the regional meet to participate in the state meet along with fre hman Rene Zuniga. These gymnasts represented Paris High School admirably. The team has had a succes ful year, and best of all, they will only lose one team member to graduation. Students can expect even bigger and better things from their gymna tic team in the years to follow.

93 Seniors attending the 1979 Junior-Senior Prom were pleasantly surprised by the creative dec orations of the junior . Based on the theme, "We May ever Pa s This Way Again," the decora tions included a park bench, street lights and pretty streamers. For favors each senior was pre en ted a gla with his or her name written on it. A Prom king and queen were elected this year by the juniors. Miss Eltina Scott and Mr. Mark Horne were the happy recipients. Prom '79 wa a great uccess, and enjoyed by all in attendance.

Mother gets a scholarship to attend her daughter's college as a freshman. The Dean (Clay Forsythe) tries to dissuade mother, but the biology professor (Terry Cain) and the B.M.O.C.
