Aujourd’hui, il revient sur ses années d’expérience pour livrer les leçons qu’il en a tirées, et les conseils qui en découlent. « L’idée fondamentale de l’hôtellerie est le service, donc l’humilité. A Review of Uk Modern Slavery Act Statements
BEYOND COMPLIANCE IN THE HOTEL SECTOR: A REVIEW OF UK MODERN SLAVERY ACT STATEMENTS Minderoo Foundation’s Walk Free Initiative WikiRate Business & Human Rights Resource Centre Australian National University 2019 About this report ABOUT THIS REPORT Documenting the impact of new legislative acts, and company responses to them, is an indispensable tool for improving the effectiveness of legislation and advancing business practice. This is why Minderoo Foundation’s Walk Free Initiative and WikiRate partnered in 2016 to assess the modern slavery statements produced under the 2015 UK Modern Slavery Act. In 2018, we launched the project’s initial findings to move beyond compliance by providing an analysis of the content of the statements being produced, as well as drawing attention to promising, and less promising, business practice. In doing so, we aimed to unlock the content of these statements and share the metrics we developed to assess business activities to combat modern slavery. The report is available here. Since January 2019, we have shifted our approach to focusing on specific sectors. With an estimated 12,000-17,000 UK-based companies having to publish statements per annum, a sector- specific approach allows us to provide a more tailored analysis of the statements and their quality, and to develop recommendations of what constitutes a strong statement and good business practice. This is the first report since we adopted this approach and it focuses on the hotels sector. The statements assessed in this report are available on the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre registry. Walk Free, WikiRate Australian National University and Business & Human Rights Resource Centre conducted this analysis. -
