Dear Members of the Planning Commission, The 2018 World Cup said it all. What a great event! Nashville could also potentially share in the sport the binds the world together. I support the proposed Major League Soccer Stadium and renovation to the Fairgrounds Nashville. Professional sports teams in Nashville have turned into major brands that are recognized across their various leagues. The Predators not only hosted the NHL All Star weekend not long ago but are widely hailed as having the best home ice advantage in hockey. The Titans, on the heels of their incredible new uniform update ceremony, were selected to host next year's NFL draft at Ascend Amphitheater. Professional sports always have, and always will greatly benefit not only the neighborhoods where they play, but the city as a whole. I would ask that you seize this opportunity to make history with us and vote to approve this soccer stadium as well as the accompanying fairgrounds renovations. I recently went on a trip to Belize, and in the small village of Hopkins, Belize, I and my wife had the privilege of experiencing the World Cup final between Croatia and France with many people throughout the world in this village. -

Appendix – MBTA Specs VISION ZERO CAMBRIDGE PUBLIC INFORMATION PLAN JUNE 2019 Vision Zero Strategic Communications Goals Working with Vision Zero and City of Cambridge staff, we have identified a number of strategic communications goals for the Vision Zero initiative as it relates to the public education component of the action plan. A comprehensive and successful public relations strategy will only be achieved by knowing the objectives that the organization wishes to attain. As such, below we have outlined the recommendations for Vision Zero’s strategic communications goals based on our discussion: 1. Develop an easy-to-understand but relevant message for those living in Cambridge and those who drive through it regarding the need for slower, safer driving. 2. Communicate that Cambridge wants to see ZERO car crashes that result in fatalities or serious bodily harm for those walking and biking in Cambridge. The audience is all who use Cambridge streets, including but not limited to drivers, with the recognition that those who will benefit will most likely be pedestrians and bicyclists. 3. Deliver a toolbox of baseline ideas, as well as creative ones, to deliver this message. 4. Develop a set of recommended media partners to approach or to deliver an ad campaign 5. -

The most probable coalition for a future government would include DSS, Serbia’s president Boris TadiĀ's Democratic Party (DS) and the liberal G17 party of acting finance minister Mlaʼnan DinkiĀ. Although DS with 65 mandates is the strongest of the three potential partners, Koštunica could claim that his DSS and G17, which were allied in the government since 2004, have together (47+19) one mandate more (66) and therefore should fill the premier’s slot. TadiĀ is not likely to gather enough mandates for an alternative coalition, so that he would have difficulties to cope with such demands. -

Psycho Killers, Circus Freaks, Ordinary People: A Brief History of the Representation of Transgender Identities on American TV Series Abstract: In 1965, popular TV Series The Alfred Hitchcock Hour (NBC) aired the episode “An Unlocked Window”, in which it is revealed that the nurses killer in the area is a transvestite. It was the first time a transgender character appeared on a TV series, and until the late 80s that was the most stereotypical and basic – because it was minimal – representation of transsexuals on broadcast TV series and films: as psychopaths and serial killers. Other examples are Aldo Lado’s Who Saw Her Die? (1972), Brian de Palma’s Dressed to Killed (1980), Robert Hiltzick’s Sleepaway Camp (1983) and Jonathan Demme’s The Silence of the Lambs (1991). Throughout the 90s the paradigm changed completely and transsexual characters became much more frequent. However, the change was not for good, as they were turned now into objects of mockery and disgust in comedy TV series and films, in which the protagonist heterosexual male was “deceived” into kissing or having sex with an “abhorrent” trans just as a comic device. In the comedies Soapdish (1991), Ace Ventura (1994), and Naked Gun 33 1/3 (1994), the male protagonist ends up literally throwing up when he realizes that the girl he had been kissing was not born a female. Friends (1994-2004) and Ally McBeal (1997-2002) are also series of the late 90s in which the way transgender characters are represented is far from being appropriate. It has not been until the Golden Globe and Emmy awarded TV series Transparent (2014-2016) when transgender issues have been put realistically on the front line with the accuracy and integrity that they deserve. -

2017 COMMUNITY REPORT 2002 2017 OF MAKING A DIFFERENCE Dear Friends, It is with great pride that we salute the last 15+ years of progress and achievement of the Red Sox Foundation. Since its founding in 2002, we have helped set the standard for professional sports philanthropy, which is a tremendous accomplishment. We are excited to march forward into another 15+ years of excellence and impact! As we look ahead, we are inspired by the vision of our new Executive Director, Rebekah Salwasser. She joined the team in early 2018, and has already made great strides to align our programming to our mission, strengthen our core partnerships, and develop our Foundation team. GLAAD and Proctor & Gamble gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) characters released the results of the first LGBTQ Inclusion in on television. This year marks the sixteenth study since Advertising and Media survey last summer. Our findings expanding that focus into what is now our Where We Are prove that seeing LGBTQ characters in media drives on TV (WWATV) report. Much has changed for the LGBTQ greater acceptance of the community, respondents who community in that time, when our first edition counted only had been exposed to LGBTQ images in media within 12 series regular LGBTQ characters across both broadcast the previous three months reported significantly higher and cable, a small fraction of what that number is today.
