What you need to use NumberSync

• Apple Watch® (Cellular) • A compatible iPhone with AT&T Wi-Fi Calling enabled - iPhone 7 series or later running iOS 13 or greater. • FirstNet wireless plans for both the iPhone and Apple Watch. You can only sync your watch to 1 wireless number at a time. • User ID and password for a FirstNet account to sync the Apple Watch to. You can sync your Apple Watch to an iPhone on a different billing account than yours. Just make sure you have the user ID and password for that account first

Sync your iPhone to your Apple Watch (Cellular)

Your watch telephone number can’t be used for talk, text, or data unless it’s synced to your iPhone. To use the messaging and calling features over our mobile network, set up NumberSync for Apple Watch (Cellular):1

1. Go to the Watch app on your iPhone and follow the prompts to start pairing. 2. Select Cellular and then Set up Cellular. 3. If you don’t already have a plan for your watch, you will need to add a plan for your watch. Subscriber Paid customers can add a plan via Local Control. Agency Paid customers should contact the person who manages the account for your company. 4. Make sure to check the box and read the Important Information for NumberSync on the 911 screen. 5. Select Verify address.On the Sync requested screen, select Ok when you see a message that NumberSync should be available shortly. 6. Follow the prompts to complete your watch setup.

Once you activate NumberSync, you’ll see calls and for your iPhone’s wireless number on your watch.1

Good to know: When you call 911 from your watch, the call goes over the mobile network when possible. If a mobile network isn’t available, emergency teams use device location data from nearby Wi-Fi networks to help locate you. If that data isn’t available, they go to the address you provide.

1. Go to your account overview, then open the My wireless section. 2. Scroll to My devices & add-ons and choose your device. 3. Select Manage my device. 4. Choose the device you want to remove NumberSync from.

Heads up: If you remove NumberSync, your watch won’t be able to use our mobile network. But the watch will stay on your plan and you’ll still be billed for its monthly service. To cancel your plan, contact Customer Care.

Talk/data charges: Calls to international using NumberSync are subject to international rates consistent with your plan or international option. When your watch isn’t connected to Wi-Fi or , talk and data charges apply to usage over the cellular network. Those charges will count against your wireless data allowance for your watch. Watch doesn’t support roaming.

SMS/MMS: Text messaging requires that your synced smartphone must be powered on so SMS/MMS messages may be forwarded to your watch. iMessage must be enabled and your smartphone must be connected to our network through either a cellular or Wi-Fi connection. If using a Wi-Fi connection, your smartphone must have Wi-Fi Calling activated.

911 calls: If you can’t be located using location information obtained from your watch, 911 calls will be routed based on the address you provide in the NumberSync settings of your watch. 911 calls aren’t supported outside the U.S., Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

TTY limitations for 911 calls & Real-Time Text: Due to technical limitations, NumberSync can’t be used with TTY devices or Real-Time Text. Persons with communications disabilities can still reach 911 services by either: (1) calling 911 directly using a TTY over the cellular network or from a landline telephone, or (2) sending a text message to 911 directly (in areas where text-to-911 is available) from a wireless device, or (3) using relay services to place a TTY or captioned telephone service (CTS) call from a wireless phone over the cellular network or from a landline telephone, or (4) using relay services to place a IP Relay or IP CTS call over a cellular data or other IP network. Additional restrictions: You can’t use NumberSync to call 211, 311, 511, or 811. Not compatible with Smart Limits, Ringback Tones, OfficeDirect, or OfficeReach.
