I thought it was a real tough division, with having the outside. David did a good job; he followed a good horse and got us into the final. I thought he trotted strong right down to the wire and that’s about all we could ask of him.” • Campbell on moving on to the Hambletonian: “We haven’t raced him back-to- back very much this year, just trying to keep him fresh with having this race in mind. I think he’s coming into it on a pretty good note. He hasn’t been over-raced or anything like that. Hopefully, he has a good week. We’re in it, and that’s the first step you’ve got to take.” • Finished fourth in his Hambletonian elimination after being parked for half the mile from post eight. • Prior to the eliminations, Campbell said: “Overall, I’m pretty happy with the way he’s coming into it. He’s gone some good races for us this year. He’s got high speed. He’s got a good attitude and likes to do his work. He can race either way, toward the front or come from behind. He’s pretty versatile that way.” • Came into his elimination off a third-placed-sixth finish in a Stanley Dancer division. • Won a PASS in 1:53.2 at Harrah’s Philadelphia on June 23rd and finished second in his Reynolds division at the Meadowlands on July 10th. • Kicked off his three year old year with a 1:55.4 win in an overnight event at Harrah’s Philadelphia. • Capped off his freshman year with a third in his Breeders Crown elimination and a fourth in the Breeders Crown final. • His first career win came in the Bluegrass at the Red Mile in a career best of 1:52.3. • Take All Comers hit the board in four of his first six starts as a two year old. He had third-place finishes with Gimpanzee in 2019, Uncle Lasse in 2015, and Corky in 2013. In 2017, he drove What The Hill, who crossed the finish line first, but was disqualified for interference in the stretch. • Earlier this year, on July 17, Miller won the Hambletonian Maturity for four-year-old trotters with Beads for trainer Per Engblom. • A 2014 inductee into the Hall of Fame, Miller ranks No. 2 all time in purses with $254 million and has finished among the top five in earnings 21 of the past 22 years. John Campbell, now president and CEO of the Hambletonian Society, holds the sport’s record for purses with $300 million. Miller is No. 5 all-time in wins with more than 13,300. • In 2003, Miller led the sport in purses and drove No Pan Intended to the Pacing Triple Crown and Horse of the Year honors. He captured multiple driving titles at the Meadowlands Racetrack in the early 2000s and has been a force on the Grand Circuit ever since he made the move. • Jim Campbell won the 1995 Hambletonian with Tagliabue, driven by his brother John, and the 2009 Hambletonian Oaks with Broadway Schooner, driven by Brian Sears. • Both trotters were owned by the wife-and-husband team of Arlene and Jules Siegel. Jules was inducted into the Harness Racing Hall of Fame in 2018. Arlene, who passed away in 2010, was inducted into the Hall of Immortals in 2021.
