In an immersive narrative, Burns and Novick tell the epic story of the Vietnam War as it has never before been told on film. THE VIETNAM WAR features testimony from nearly 80 witnesses, including many Americans who fought in the war and others who opposed it, as well as Vietnamese combatants and civilians from both the winning and losing sides. “The Vietnam War was a decade of agony that took the lives of more than 58,000 Americans,” Burns said. “Not since the Civil War have we as a country been so torn apart. There wasn’t an American alive then who wasn’t affected in some way — from those who fought and sacrificed in the war, to families of service members and POWs, to those who protested the war in open conflict with their government and fellow citizens. More than 40 years after it ended, we can’t forget Vietnam, and we are still arguing about why it went wrong, who was to blame and whether it was all worth it.” “We are all searching for some meaning in this terrible tragedy. Ken and I have tried to shed new light on the war by looking at it from the bottom up, the top down and from all sides,” Novick said. “In addition to dozens of Americans who shared their stories, we interviewed many Vietnamese on both the winning and losing sides, and were surprised to learn that the war remains as painful and unresolved for them as it is for us.     MARTIN PHIPPS COMPOSER Coming from a musical background (he is Benjamin Britten’s godson), Martin read drama at Manchester University and fortunately for the acting profession, he decided to concentrate his energies on writing music. Since scoring his first TV drama, Eureka Street in 2002, he has won 2 BAFTAs, 5 Ivor Novello Awards and received multiple Emmy nominations for writing music to many of the most interesting series of recent years. These include the BBC’s War and PeaCe, Hugo Blick’s The Honourable Woman, Peaky Blinders, Black Mirror and season 3 & 4 of the Leftbank Pictures/Netflix series The Crown. Martin’s film credits include Woman In Gold (scored with Hans Zimmer), starring Ryan Reynolds and Helen Mirren, Fox Searchlight’s The Aftermath, starring Keira Knightley and Alexander Skarsgård, Harry Brown and Brighton Rock. Martin set up Mearl, a project to facilitate collaborations with other artists and composers, as well as a platform for developing his own material.     David Schweitzer COMPOSER David is a unique and inventive composer who has scored more than 100 film and television projects. From feature films, through animation, documentary and drama, he is just as comfortable writing a sweeping orchestral score as he is creating wild soundscapes on his ever-expanding modular synth setup. Being an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, David is always keen to bring real and organic elements into his scores. Ever since he started composing, David has shown a high degree of musical eclecticism. As a teenager, he wrote an hour-long Requiem Mass for choir and orchestra (mostly during GSCE maths lessons!), while at the same time being the guitarist and songwriter in a pop band with a cult local following. While studying music at New College, Oxford and then at the National Film & Television School, David continued playing in bands and experimenting with music technology. David recently co-scored the Working Title film Emma and has written music for many recent drama series including The White Princess (with John Lunn), The Crown (with Martin Phipps), Victoria (with Ruth Barrett), and Vanity Fair (with Isobel Waller-Bridge). His work on documentaries includes scores for Wonders of Life (BBC), Inside North Korea’s Dynasty (National Geographic), Moon Landing Live (Channel 4), Rise of the Murdoch Dynasty (BBC) and the upcoming Netflix anthology series Bad Sport. He’s currently scoring an epic series about 9/11 for National Geographic, coming out in 2021. He wrote additional music with Jocelyn Pook for Lauren Greenfield’s 2019 feature doc about Imelda Marcos, The Kingmaker.

In his cross-timeline journey, Loki finds himself a fish out of water as he tries to navigate—and manipulate—his way through the bureaucratic nightmare that is the Time Variance Authority and its by-the-numbers mentality. This is Loki as you have never seen him. Stripped of his self- proclaimed majesty but with his ego still intact, Loki faces consequences he never thought could happen to such a supreme being as himself. In that, there is a lot of humor as he is taken down a few pegs and struggles to find his footing in the unforgiving bureaucracy of the Time Variance Authority. As the series progresses, we see different sides of Loki as he is drawn into helping to solve a serious crime with an agent 1 of the TVA, Mobius, who needs his “unique Loki perspective” to locate the culprits and mend the timeline.
