EADDY, Earl M. Eaddy (Abstracted from information courtesy of Joe P. Burns Funeral Homes, Perry, FL Mayo, FL, and Madison, FL 31 January 2017) Earl M. Eaddy, age 94, passed away on January 31, 2017 in Perry, FL. Earl was born July 15, 1922 in Four Oaks, NC to William Doris Eaddy and Lila Louise Buffkin Eaddy. Earl honorably served our country in the United States Army during WWII. Mr. Eaddy was a member of First Baptist Church of Perry, where he just loved being in church. Earl worked as a Sprinklerfitter with National Automated Sprinkler Systems for many years. Earl was preceded in death by two wives, Willie P. Eaddy, and Lena Murphy Eaddy, and a son Charlie Brown. Mr. Eaddy is survived by his wife of 14 years Mrs. Marjorie L. Summerlin Eaddy; step- children, Nell Shortt, Nonnie Sue Harvey, Cheri Pridgeon, Sharon Barnes , Ron Summerlin, Bob Summerlin, Wayne Summerlin, and Terry Summerlin; a sister Gertrude Keith; granddaughter Barbara Thibert; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Perry. Interment services will follow at the Chapel Hills Gardens Cemetery in Dade City, FL on Monday, February 6, 2017. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry. EADES, Warren Martin Eades (Abstracted from the Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home, Thomasville, Georgia) Services for Warren Martin Eades, 60, of Thomasville will be held Thursday, July 19, 2012 at the Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Eades was born on September 8, 1951 in Wateska, IL to the late Cecil Eades, Sr. and the late Fern Smith. During his life he served in the U.S. Navy and he was a member of the maintenance staff of Wildwood Apartments in Thomasville. Mr. Eades was married to Mrs. Carolyn V. Eades on August 24, 1988. Mr. Eades departed this life on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Archbold Medical Center. Survivors to cherish his memory include his wife Carolyn V. Eades of Thomasville; sons Josh Eades and his fiance’ Sheri O’Donnell and Ben Eades and his fiance’ Cassandra Tucker all of Tallahassee, FL; grandson Jacob (Yakov) Eades of Tallahassee, FL; brother Cecil Eades, Jr. of Wateska, IL; sisters Mildred Giesing (Greg) of Tennessee and Gloria Jean Turpin (Dan) of Ottervein, IN. EADS, Donald Wayne Eads (Abstracted from the Madison Enterprise Recorder, Madison, Florida, October 10, 2008) Donald Wayne Eads, age 79, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2008, in Perry. Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 9, at Beggs Funeral Home in Perry. Interment followed at Pineview Memorial Gardens in Perry. A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Eads was the son of the late Nancy Stephenson Amos and Russell Amos and Earl Eads. Eads served in the United States Air Force during World War II, earning the Army of Occupation Medal along with the World War II Victory Medal. He attended Flagler College and then onto the University of Florida. Graduating in 1954, he lived in Madison, where he taught school for two years, then became a Madison County health inspector for the next 34 years before retiring in 1988. In 1996, he moved to Perry He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Madison, and a member of Phi Sigma Kappa. He enjoyed all sports, but most of all, he was an avid Gator fan. His is survived by his son, Ron (Loretta) Nolen of Kissimmee; 1 daughter, Uveda (Bill) Sadler of Perry; 2 sisters, Betty Jo Huntley of Middleburg, and Brooksie Hughes of Orange Park; 7 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Inez Eads; and one sister, Ruth Snyder. EADS, Earnest Donald Eads (Abstracted from information courtesy of Music Funeral Home, Lakeland, GA and Valdosta, GA 15 October 2015) Rev. Earnest Donald "Don" Eads, age 76, of Valdosta, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 after a long journey with Alzheimer's disease. Born in Tuscaloosa, AL on April 18, 1939, he was the youngest of six boys born to the late Luther Barnett Eads and Minnie Ruby (Parker) Eads. A graduate of Belmont University, Don taught choral music in Atlanta public schools prior to his ordination into full-time ministry. Along with his late wife, Carol Bryant Eads, this loving man with a big voice and incredible smile served churches in Georgia and South Carolina for over 30 years in music ministry before becoming house parents with the Georgia Baptist Children's Home. Together they ministered to nearly a generation of children at the Palmetto Campus. Don and Carol made a great team, turning their cottage into a loving, stable home, and a showplace inside and out. Don formed and led a hand bell choir for the children, which played at campus events, church events, and for former President Carter at his church in Plains. A true "people" person with a servant heart, Don received the Lyman Pincus Award in recognition of his dedicated service to the Children's Home. He loved to cheer on his beloved Crimson Tide, make music with his family and friends, and spend time with his grandchildren-- both his own and those dozens he claimed as his own from the Children's Home. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Quitman. In addition to his wife and parents, Don was preceded in death by four brothers, Phillip Eads, Morris Eads, Gene Eads, and Bobby Eads; and his sister-in-law, Tommie Jean Eads. Survivors include 1 daughter and son-in-law, Laura (Andy) Daughtry of Thomasville, GA; 4 grandchildren, Clay, Seth, Josh and Caroline Daughtry, all of Thomasville; his brother, Eldridge Eads of Monterey, TN; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joan (Bill) Webb of Albany, GA; his sister-in-law, Wynette Bryant of Clarkston, GA; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Barry (Marcia) Bryant of Calhoun, 1 GA; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Quitman. Private family graveside services will be held. Floral tributes will be accepted or memorials are encouraged to the Georgia Baptist Children's Home and Family Ministries, Inc. (GBCHFM) or the Alzheimer's Association. Music Funeral Services of Valdosta is serving the Eads family. EAGAN, Dennis Eagan (Abstracted from the New Enterprise, Madison, Florida Thursday, June 19, 1902) The Jacksonville papers announced the sudden death in that city of Dennis Eagan. Mr. Eagan once lived in Madison and was a prominent figure in the politics of the day. No record was found of the burial EAGLETON, Martha Sessoms Eagleton (Abstracted from the Clinch County News, December 31, 2008) The daughter of Edna S. Sessoms and Alexander Kelly Sessoms, and born (August 23, 1916) in Sirmans, GA, Martha Sessoms Eagleton was the last surviving of the Sessoms’ five sons and daughters. She died December 27, 2008, in Knoxville, TN, where she had resided since 2005. She lived as a young girl in Cogdell, GA, attended both Shorter College (Rome, Georgia) and Stetson College (Deland, Florida), and was married to Godwin Arthur Eagleton in 1940, after which she moved to Aliquippa, PA. Following her husband’s retirement, they moved to Lake Wales, FL. A lifelong Presbyterian, she was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Wales. She was a devoted mother to her two daughters, and she loved the pine trees and fields of South Georgia, where she spent her youth. Appreciated by her friends, she will also be remembered for the patience and talent she exhibited in her sewing, needlepoint, and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband (1997), and by her younger daughter, Dr. Sandra Eagleton, who died in 2004. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Martha Eagleton Begalla, and her son-in-law, James A. Begalla, both of Knoxville, TN; by Dr. Eagleton’s husband, Carl Van Buskirk of Sanford, NC; and by numerous nieces and nephews. The family is thankful for the care provided by the staff at Williamsburg Villas, Knoxville, Tennessee. EAKINS, Benjamin Eakins (Abstracted from the Madison Enterprise-Recorder Newspaper, Madison, Florida, October 14, 1966) Benjamin Eakins, age 74, of Perry died last Saturday. Funeral services were held Monday at Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church near Eridu. Listed among his survivors is a brother, Mr. John Eakins of Greenville. EAKINS, Ella Corene Tuten Eakins (Abstracted from information received from John Bullard, 27 September 2018) GREENVILLE: Ella Corene Tuten Eakins, age 96, died Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Madison County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Madison County, FL and loved to garden and do yard work. She was a member of Sirmans Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by 1 son: Herbert Eakins (Devera) of Perry; 2 daughters: Linda Wimberly (Charles) of Greenville and Barbara Eakins of Madison; 2 brothers: Tommy Tuten of Dowling Park and Pete Tuten (Jan) of Lake Bird, FL; 4 grandchildren: Haley Eakins Wade, Warren Christopher Eakins, Amanda Wimberly Flores and Dustin Wimberly and 4 great- grandchildren: Kali, Trenton Blane Flores, Trever Braden Flores, Teagan and a host of relatives. She was predeceased by her husband: Henry Warren Eakins. Funeral services will be at Beggs Funeral home, Madison Chapel with burial at Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Sirmans, Florida.
