Public Hearing: Special Order Application BSA Calendar No. 190-92-BZ, 180 East End Avenue - Application to extend the term of variance for transient parking spaces. Whereas , this application is to extend the term of variance for transient parking spaces Whereas, Community Board 8M held a public hearing regarding this matter; therefore Be It Resolved that Community Board 8 approves the term of variance for transient parking spaces at 180 East End Avenue. Community Board 8M adopted the resolution by a vote of 41 in favor, 0 opposed, 0 abstentions and 0 not voting for cause. 3. Adoption of the Agenda – Agenda adopted. 4. Adoption of the Minutes – May 22, 2013 Full Board and July 10, 2013 Land Use meeting minutes adopted. 5. Manhattan Borough President’s Report: Kristen Ellis, a representative from the Manhattan Borough President’s Office (MBPO) Scott Stringer, reported on his latest initiatives. In late August the MBPO issued a report called “Digital Deficit” on internet broadband speeds which were surveyed in NYC public schools and libraries. Based on the Department of Education surveys it found that 75% of public schools across the city have internet speeds that are 100% slower than the national goal that has been set by President Obama. This report is available online on the MBPO’s website. The NYS Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Borough President Stringer present “Shine the Light on Domestic Violence” and invites everyone to take a stand against domestic violence by joining them for a special lighting ceremony on Monday, October 7 th , 6:30PM, at Duffy Square at southwest corner of Broadway and 47 th street. Elected Official’s Reports: • Patrick Madigan, a representative from Senator Liz Krueger’s office, reported on her latest initiatives. Senator Krueger is moderating
