We still have over 80 ungulate populations in our collections In the past 16 years, ungulate diversity in AZA facilities has declined by 1/3

We still are struggling to reach sustainability with our populations: Nearly half of them are RED SSPs.

Do we need to intentionally lose additional species in order to reach sustainability with what is left? Populations are most at risk when they have:

►Small number of animals ►Small number of institutions Priority Species

•Species of conservation concern •Program has animals available •Only a few institutions are currently working with the species •Program Leader is actively working on getting new facilities Priority Species Postcards Priority Species Postcards
