World Peace Panchsheel The Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence or Panchsheel are a series of agreements between the People's Republic of China and India. After the Central Chinese Government took control of Tibet, China came into increasing conflict with India. However, both nations were newly- established and interested in finding ways to avoid further conflict. Therefore in 1954 the two nations drew up the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence: 1. Mutual respect for each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty 2. Mutual non-aggression 3. Mutual non-interference in each other's internal affairs 4. Equality and mutual benefit 5. Peaceful co-existence The Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence were first put forth by Premier Zhou Enlai of China at the start of negotiations that took place in Beijing from December 1953 to April 1954 between the Delegation of the Chinese Government and the Delegation of the Indian Government on the relations between the two countries with respect to Tibet. Later, the Five Principles were formally written into the preface to the "Agreement Between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of India on Trade and Intercourse Between the Tibet Region of China and India" concluded between the two sides. Since June 1954, the Five Principles were contained in the joint communique issued by Premier Zhou Enlai of China and Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru of India, and have been adopted in many other international documents. As norms of relations between nations, they have become widely recognized and accepted throughout the world. Despite the existence of the Panchsheel, continued differences between the two nations led to the Sino-Indian War in 1962. -

76 Advocacy Campaign for the Rights of People with Disabilities: A Participatory Action Research within a Community-based Rehabilitation Project in Maharashtra, India Atul Jaiswal1*, Shikha Gupta2 1. Doctoral Candidate, School of Rehabilitation Therapy, Queen’s University, Canada 2. Doctoral Student, School of Rehabilitation Therapy, Queen’s University, Canada ABSTRACT Purpose: This paper aimed to demonstrate how participatory action research (PAR) within a Community-based Rehabilitation (CBR) project facilitated community participation to advocate for the rights of people with visual impairment. An advocacy campaign, led by the local people with and without disabilities, was launched for the construction of an accessible foot over-bridge (FOB) at Vangani railway station in Maharashtra, India. Methods: The PAR approach was used to explore the issues faced by the local people with visual impairment. It ensured maximum community consultation, engagement and, consequently, meaningful outcomes for the community. Advocacy tools such as video documentary, online petition, media advocacy, and signature campaign were employed to publicise the issue on a larger platform. Sources for this paper included quantitative data from the survey of Vangani community and documents such as CBR project reports, media coverage articles, minutes of the meeting and correspondence with the Central Railways during the advocacy campaign that was conducted from 2012 - 2015. Results: After 12 months of consistent advocacy, the Ministry of Railways sanctioned INR 15 million (equivalent to USD 2,25,000) for the construction of the foot over-bridge. The construction work on the foot over bridge was completed in December 2016 and now it is open for public use. Conclusion and Implications: This study illustrates how PAR within a CBR project successfully used an advocacy campaign as a tool for community participation, action and change. -

7. Additional Studies
Dahej Nagothane Ethane Pipeline (DNEPL) Project Chapter-7 Additional Studies 7. ADDITIONAL STUDIES 7.1. Quantitative Risk Assessment Risk analysis study was conducted for DNEPL originating from RIL DMD in Gujarat to RIL NMD in Maharashtra with a spur pipeline to RIL HMD. Conducting a Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) is important in the management of risk, as cross country pipelines transport hazardous material traversing several hundreds of kilometres through villages, forests, rivers, roads, rail crossings, etc. Risk Assessment study was undertaken to address the hazards and risks associated with pipeline transportation of hydrocarbons as per requirement of MoEFCC. The goal of risk assessment is to estimate the risk to personal, property and public along the pipeline route from the unlikely event of leaks and/or rupture during pipeline operation. In addition, results of such studies provide help in improvement of safety by recommending measures to risk to the extent possible. This section outlines the Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) Report prepared by M/s Bureau Veritas. 7.1.1. Project Details The proposed pipeline will transfer liquid Ethane made available from RIL DMD to RIL NMD and HMD through 12” dia mainline and 8” dia spur pipeline respectively. One pump station is proposed to be located within RIL DMD. The pipeline will be constructed as per OISD 214 and ASME B 31.4 standards.
