Do not fear, I Am who sustains you, I Am who supports you, Your Soul is an extension of my Fire. Allow my love to raise your consciousness, allow my love to cure your heart. Oh, eternal Pilgrim, new abodes await you, Forget the past, walk into the light of the eternal present. And there, where is no separation, There, where everything is Unity, your Soul will merge into my Liberating Fire Then, oh eternal Pilgrim, time and space will disappear Your consciousness will raise and you will commune with the worlds of LIGHT And there, in this sublime moment, the 'I' will disappear to give space to what you always have been and what you always will be - an extension of my Eternal LOVE. Poem from a devotee of Babaji 3 Discourses with Shri Munirajji On knowing oneself: “Before you can love yourself, you have to know yourself. Observe and understand yourself.” On achieving liberation: “In this yuga we can only achieve with action and karma yoga because it includes others…the best is Karma Yoga and family life. Through family life all desires and joys can be achieved. It is a playground for spiritual joys and worldly joys – it’s a complete programme. To be a Sanyasin or a monastic recluse during the Kali Yuga is not appropriate. The reason for this is that often a lot of desires remain unfulfilled and then become expressed through dependencies. These people are as much in maya as everyone else. During the Kali Yuga it is very easy to slide into the abyss; at the same time it is also possible to attain spiritual liberation.” On Trust: “Everyone has their unique nature. Regarding trust, some find it easier than others. That’s why spiritual practice is so important. Through it grows trust and faith.” Extracts from an interview during Autumn Navaratri, Chilianaula 2007 4 Shri Sadashiva Charitamrit The Goddess Jagadamba asks: "What is the city whose doors are open and the streets come together at the centre? What is the one that flows in every home? What is the yagna (fire ritual), which gives any luck? What is the ocean that surrounds bliss? We know that the swan swallowed the pearl, but what does Paramhans to be? Who is the greatest enemy and the best friend in the world? Shiva replied, I'm going to reveal the secret to these questions. The body is a city. It contains the whole universe. The body openings, the doors of the city. All roads lead to heart and go from there to Brahman, the Supreme. Just by listening you can reach a higher state of consciousness. With the eyes can see and reach God through Japa (repeating the name of God). As part of the Universal Soul, the human soul reigns as queen of the city."The largest ocean is the grace of God. The ocean is full of paramhansas. There are six enemies to grace: jealousy anger, ego, attachment, lust and greed. With true friends can practice satsang. Paramhans takes the pearls of the name of God himself. " These are extracts from the Sadashiva Charitamrit. The big holy book by Shri Vishnu Datt Shastri we all know of but most of us have no idea what it is about. 5 Then Jagdamba asked Shiva to descend to the world to help. Shiva answered her request: “In order to make you happy, I will descend as Shri Sadguru Mahavatar Baba Haidakhan on earth" Then says Jagadamba: "Because I'm the other half of your knowledge, I should represent myself as your first student. I want you to prepare the way of the world and proclaim to her your fame. I'm going to help you and all people of the world. As your student I would always stay with you. My name shall be Shri Maharaj Charanashrit Paramguru." Shiva says: "I will appear in the world in the Kumaon region and incarnate in a cave at the foot of Kailash. Though I walk in the world as an immortal saint, I will meditate for some time in the cave at Haidakhan. Because we find the herb Haira, the Gautama Ganga flows there twenty four hours a day, and very close to this spot is the beautiful cave at Haidakhan Vishva Mahadham the place will become famous place. I will be known as Baba Haidakhan. The people of this area will receive my first darshan in the form of a divine, pure and peaceful Guru". Several attempts have been made to translate this book into English. After the 9th chapter was dictated by Babaji himself and written by Shri Vishnu Datt Shastri, Babaji pressed our present chairman Alok Banerjee to get it published very quickly and widely distributed. Babaji emphasized the great importance this book has for the world and for personal spiritual development. Shamefully we have not gotten very far thru the many years which have passed. This has several reasons but one major hurdle is that it has been written in Sanskrit, old Avadhi and Hindi laced with Sanskrit. It takes a very knowledgeable professor who is well versed in all these languages as well as English. Thru a German devotee named Dieter, Professor Kapp from Germany was found who is a specialist in all these languages. Dieter has been supporting this project on a small scale and collecting money for this enormous task and so far almost 10 % of the 1300 page book has been translated into German language. At Guru Purnima it was decided that we are going to give it another go as this translation will be of the desired quality that this fine spiritual work merits. It is a very big task which will involve each and everyone as we need to collect funds of around 100,000 Euro's. It is clear that for this very large sum some substantial donors need to step forward to have this project come to a desirable conclusion. The German Samaj with the help of Dieter is going to oversee and collect the funds for the translation in English and German. We humbly request for help in realising this project that Shri Babaji has requested of us 30 years ago. Joining up in the name of the guru with minds and hearts firmly placed in communal prayer, praise and song, the universal goddess appears and we see her dance. Rieferath 2013 was another glorious testimony of this reality. It felt as if energy stirred deep within and awakened the soul from its slumber. Paduka pujas, fire ceremonies and aarati are only means to an end. They are tools to aid the individual soul in its ascendance through the different layers of consciousness to meet with spirit. In this process the body becomes a receptive vessel with the human heart in its very centre. This kind of love- making between heaven and earth brings immeasurable benefits. 11 Guru Purnima - 2013 - Rieferath from Lok Nath I felt many blessings to participate in this year’s celebration. First, it was a surprise to get off the plane in Frankfurt and within 30 minutes be, through customs, train ticket in hand, standing by the tracks, waiting to go 300 kph toward Rieferath. This does not happen in America. So many of our systems have been high jacked by greed where our civil religion is increasingly greed and our god is money. Where is the karma yoga, the public service and the systems for the greater good that Babaji always represented? At Rieferath things only got better. There, Babaji's family grew to three hundred loving and caring sisters, brothers and children. There was spirit, beauty and harmony as everyone sought to live out truth, simplicity and love. The welcoming hospitality of the Rieferath community and all of their teams was seamless - from the tents and toilettes to the shops and bandaras. Every Aarti was beautiful if not ecstatic. The Havens were harmonious and well led by Alok, Raghuvir and Martin Baba.
