It’s that time of year again that we are approaching our 9th Annual “Our Time to Shine” Spring Recital. There are a few things you will need to know in order for our recital weekend to run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
Attached to this packet you will find: Costume Check-List, DVD Order Form, Photo Order Form, Online Ticketing Info and Video on Demand. You can also find this packet at http://kaymichaelleestudio.com/recitals.html
Thank you all for your hard work, flexibility and dedication this past session. The dancers have grown so much. I cannot wait to see what this summer and next fall have in store for them.

Rising Star Showcase: We will not be holding a Rising Star Showcase this year due to the pandemic.
Due May 1: Outstanding Balance & Costume: Your outstanding balance needs to be paid in full prior to the Spring Recital. If the bill has not been paid, you run the risk of your dancer not being eligible to perform at the Spring Recital. As it says on our Class Descriptions and Policies:
Fall tuition is due May 1. No exceptions. Any dancer who is not paid in full is at the discretion of the Artistic Director to participate in the recital(s). This does not apply to competition line students, as they are on a separate tuition schedule. (Unless your family has opted for the auto-debit feature. This will be ran on May 1).
In order to obtain your performance costume, your balance needs to be paid in full. Please see me if you have any questions. Costume Check-List: Attached you will see an excel sheet which deciphers what each class will need in order for the performance. This includes class enrolled, song title, shoes, hairstyle and costume. If the costume belongs to KML, a staff member will pick up the costume from the dancer before they are able to leave the premises.
**If dancer(s) leave without returning costumes to KML, you will be charged full price for the costume.
May 1: Tech Rehearsal Scheduled On Saturday, May 1, we will be holding our tech rehearsal at the Old Armory Theatre. Dancers are not required to wear costumes at rehearsal; simple dance attire and footwear will be appropriate. Each class will have a slotted time they will rehearse. Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your scheduled rehearsal time slot. May 2: Recital Day As of now, we are planning to hold recital day as we have in the past with one (1) show. All dancers will dress down in the pit (basement) of the Old Armory Theatre.
● 2:00pm performance: Please arrive at the Old Armory Theatre no later than 1:30pm with hair and makeup ready.
May 6: Class Photo Schedule: Terri Rider Photography Studios will be taking our class photos this year. The photos will be shot at Kay Michael Lee Studio.
Each class photo is slotted for fifteen (15) minutes. Please look this over prior to your arrival to the studio. Due to the limited space and spatial awareness of COVID-19, please arrive with your dancer in costume and makeup. ● Upon arrival, please only have one (1) parent per dancer present ● Dancers who wish to take individual shots are more than welcome to. These photos will be taken immediately before the group photo. Admission Tickets Purchased Online: Open April 27 We are offering a new convenient option for our KML families to purchase admission tickets AHEAD of our recital online! Tickets will be $10 for 6 yrs to adults; 5 and under are free. With this new option, families can choose where they’d like to view the recital PRIOR to the show. You have the option of printing your ticket or downloading the ticket to your phone. Each ticket will be scanned at the front table as you enter the auditorium.
We will only be selling tickets prior to the shows (no tickets sold at the door).
Group Photo at Recital: As a reminder, we will be taking the KML Studio group photo at the beginning of the show. This is the only time parents and family members are able to snap those photos of our dancers on stage!
Photo & DVD Opportunities at Recital: KML provides a high quality DVD recording of the recitals each year for purchase. Audience members are NOT allowed to take photo and/or video per the duration of the performance. The choreography is copyrighted and protected and taking personal photos/video violates this protection. Families are able to place their order(s) at the back of the theatre on the order form.
We are excited to have Patty Stillwell with Daycom Inc. back to record our recital! Her DVD order form is in the recital packet email.
Anyone caught taking personal photo and recordings runs the risk of stopping the dancers’ performance.
Families and friends are allowed to take photos before the show and after the show has been completed.

All raffle tickets (sold and unsold), and money needs to be turned into the concessions table at the Old Armory Theatre by Sunday, May 2 at 1:30pm. Any money and tickets turned in after will not be included in the raffle drawing at the recital.

TECH REHEARSAL SCHEDULE SATURDAY, MAY 1 OLD ARMORY THEATRE Tech Rehearsal:
Dancers will rehearse their recital routines on stage at the Old Armory Theatre at their scheduled time. Please arrive 10-15 minutes PRIOR to your scheduled rehearsal time. If you show up late, you run the risk of missing the scheduled rehearsal on stage before the show.
Rehearsal will begin after the last class photo has been taken.
Costumes are not needed for tech rehearsal. Please come with proper dance wear, hair securely fastened and appropriate dance clothing.
